If you have been in Wilmington a while, you may recognize this beautiful art! Rhonda Lee is a local artist, and she is one of our long time faithful donors! Each time she sells her art, the proceeds go directly to supporting our mission at Eden Village.

THIS FRIDAY, Friday Oct 23rd, Rhonda will be selling her art at the Berkshire-Hathaway office across the street from Kilwins at the fourth Friday festival. If you have never heard of it, check it out at: https://www.artswilmington.org/four-fridays/

If you can't make it on Friday, you can purchase her art in the Berkshire-Hathaway office until Nov 24.

Laurie is our volunteer extraordinaire! She comes around all the time, and the people get excited when it is haircut time! She cuts residents and staff hair and we are so grateful. In this economy, who could afford a haircut! Luckily we don't need to because Laurie brings the salon right to the village.

Bell Partners is a faithful partner to Eden Village and hosted their 3rd Give Back day on our site. They bring in all their vendors to help keep Eden Village looking fresh, fix what needs fixing, and feed and hang out in our community. We are so grateful for their support and growing friendship!

As the weather cools, walking at Eden Village of Wilmington in the early evening is one of the most beautiful things that one can do. You will walk past most of our residents sitting in a rocking chairs on their porches. You will be greeted from most with a hearty, "Good Evening!" We have a great team at Eden Village of Wilmington and we love planning fun things together! This week Julia led us through a strategic planning day full of Mission Statements, Niche Vision Statements, SWOT analyses, Core Values, 3-5 year goals, 90-day rocks, and so much more. A special shout out to change management coach Greg Thompson for walking Julia through the planning stages of the day. The bottom line is that we have the right people in the right seats and a good plan. There is so much work to be done as we look toward contributing in a maximal fashion to make Wilmington a City Where No One Sleeps Outside!

The Eden Village experience has been published in the NC Journal of Medicine! Thank you Holt Evans, MD, MPH for your work documenting the challenges of permanent supportive housing in the chronically homeless. The interesting opportunity for communities like Eden Village is that our residents can be longitudinally tracked. The sad fact is that HUD scattered site housing data is typically limited to tracking the initial year of housing. Some HUD information suggests that as few as 12% of these homeless adults are stably housed in the same location 10 years after initial placement.

This week our social work and medical teams learned and onboarded onto the development tracking tool called Aspire brought to us at no charge from our friends at the . This innovative platform is a visual stoplight based reporting survey that offers long term goal tracking for folks in need. This type of reporting is powerful and promising. Our team will also use this at REV.
