Spent this nice Saturday morning starting the build on the pollinator garden at the Islands YMCA. The club plans to increase the size and diversity of this space over time and any help, suggestions or donations would be appreciated.

Nice day for a roadway clean up. Picked up a total of 6 large garbage bags between Kroger and the Turner Creek bridge.

The IMR Lions Club will have a roadway clean up this Friday, May 15th. We will meet at the Ace Hardware parking lot at 9:30 and work in the area around Johnny Mercer. Safety vests, bags and pickers will be available for anyone wishing to join us.

Our friend Lissa Leege from Georgia Southern is working on a new research project at Tybee! They'll be having monthly meetings for this project starting April 26 and would love to have a core group of citizen scientists participate! For more information see the attached!🐝🐝

Had a great day at the Islands YMCA Healthy Kids Festival. Thanks to all who came by and to those members who were able to help out.

The IMR Lions Club will be at the Islands YMCA this Saturday, April 18th, from 10 until 2 for their Healthy Kids Festival. Stop by our booth to learn more about the Lions Club community garden project. We will also have some plants for sale, along with bee houses and food.

Join us and the Islands YMCA and Frank Murray Community Center in our effort to recycle plastic. Both of these locations have recycle bins located just inside their entrance. For each 1000 pounds of plastic we collect and recycle, Trex will donate 1 bench to our community. Fun fact, it takes approximately 70,000 bags to equal 1000 pounds.

Today the IMR Lions Club was at the 2nd Annual Shorebirds Festival on Tybee Island. This year was a beautiful clear and warm day and there were a lot of vendors and guests. The Lions had an interactive activity to paint a poster to Save our Shore Birds which we in turn donated to the festivals organizer, Tybee Island Marine and Science Center and Manomet Conservation Sciences.
