ARE YOU HEALING FROM TRAUMA?

Healing from trauma is possible, and you don’t have to do it alone. 🌱 Today’s reminder: small, consistent steps can gently rewrite your story.

Here are 4 ways to support your healing journey (as shown in the graphic):

How to say no – It’s not just about the past event, but what happened when you felt powerless to change your reality.

Self-witnessing – Practicing becoming the neutral observer of your life can create space between you and your pain.

Compassionate self-talk – Speaking to yourself with the same kindness you’d offer a friend helps soothe your inner child.

Working through triggers – Learning to breathe, pause, and stay curious about your feelings can make triggers more manageable over time.

If this resonates with you, save this post as a gentle check-in for the days when healing feels hard, and share it with someone who might need the reminder that they are not alone. 💚

Some days does it feel your mind feels like it’s moving a million miles an hour while your body is standing completely still. you can show up to work, smile, joke, and say “I’m fine,” and still feel like I’m barely holding it together underneath.

This is what mental health struggles can look like. They don’t always show up as tears or dramatic breakdowns. Sometimes they look like overworking, canceling plans, snapping at the people you love, or feeling nothing at all.

If this sounds familiar, you’re not broken and you’re not alone. Reaching out for help is not a failure—it’s an act of courage. Talking to a friend, a peer, a chaplain, a therapist, or a support line can be the first small breath of relief. We encourage you to use the B.R.E.A.T.H.E. Acronym.

Today, if all you did was get out of bed, answer one message, drink some water, or take one deep breath on purpose, that’s progress. Your struggles are real, and so is your strength. Please don’t fight this battle in silence.

You matter more than you know. Keep going—and if you can’t keep going alone, reach out. Someone would rather listen to your story than attend your funeral.

If you are in crisis or thinking about su***de, please contact your local crisis line or emergency services right away. Your life is worth that call.

To our community -

The Haven at Islands Counseling needs help to continue providing quality mental health care to those with financial hardships.

Community support is the front-line defense in the fight for mental health. It is where isolation is disrupted, where stigma is challenged, and where individuals are reminded—consistently and without condition—that they are not alone.

When communities lean in—through open dialogue, peer support, and accessible resources—they create an environment where seeking help is not perceived as weakness, but as strength.

We kindly ask that you share and circulate this, as shares and follows increases our community footprint.

Guess what ?

PLATINUM BARBIE JEEP WILL BE IN ATTENDANCE !

The Haven at Islands Counseling is taking over the Kelpie Bistro and Pub on Tybee Island on March 21st 2026 from 11AM to 9P.

10% of all proceeds will benefit The Haven at Islands Counseling mission to provide quality mental health care to those in need.

Why should you come?
Where will the funds that are raised be used?

So Far in 2026, the Haven at ICS provided $4000+ in services to those in crisis and unable to afford care through the Chad Paul Mental Health Fund.

Without your help, these valuable programs won't receive funding and our community will lose an important resource for families in need.
