Troop 9 spent the last weekend in September mountain biking at beautiful Silver Lake County Park in Salem Lakes, WI. With trails for beginner, intermediate and advanced riders, the park was a terrific setting for our first-time mountain bikers, as well as our thrill-seekers. A few even managed to find time for some fishing between rides!

This year, several older scouts from Troop 9 traveled to the Florida Keys for a scuba high adventure at Sea Base! Scouts spent the week earning the PADI open water dive certification, exploring the coral reef and making lifelong memories.

17 Scouts from Troop 9 journeyed to MaKaJaWan Scout Reservation this summer for another wonderful, unforgettable week!

In June, Troop 9 traveled to Rock Island State Park, past the end of Door County, across the famous Death's Door Passage. Scouts hiked the entire perimeter of the island, toured and climbed the island's 18th century lighthouse and visited the Nordic-inspired boathouse, built nearly 100 years ago by a Chicago tycoon who owned most of the island at the time.

Troop 9 takes to the slopes! Scouts from Troop 9 - many of whom were first-time skiers - spent the day at Wisconsin's Alpine Valley. Perfect weather for a winter adventure!

Some familiar faces at Makajawan last summer! Several Troop 9 Scouts completed a 5 mile hike as part of the Trailblazer program, completing rank requirements along the way.

A beautiful weekend as Troop 9 trekked Wisconsin's Ice Age Trail (the "IAT") for 11 miles through Kettle Moraine Forest - Southern Unit. The IAT is one America's National Scenic Trails and generally traces the furthest advance of the glaciers across Wisconsin in the last Ice Age. Scouts camped two nights in primitive shelters along the IAT, carrying all of their gear and learning about how to pack light while still being prepared!

Troop 9 went fishing this October at White Pines State Park - it was a terrific weekend where the scouts learned new skills, both as young anglers and how to safely use camp tools like axes and saws. Some scouts caught their first fish! Beautiful weekend and a great trip!
