It's often helpful to hear from others on the breast cancer journey. Thanks to these women for sharing their experiences including TLP Member Lori Bue.

No one knows more about getting second opinions, breaking the news to loved ones and colleagues, lumpectomies versus mastectomies, chemotherapy, radiation, hair loss, skincare, creating a support network, and staring down fear than the women who’ve already gone through breast cancer treatment.

Join us for our next TLP Community event on December 4th!

We are thrilled to welcome back Maureen Spielman on Sunday, December 4th from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. CST for her workshop "Soul Care as a Way of Life". In this afternoon workshop, Maureen will introduce you to the concept of soul care, guide you through a visioning process, and invite you to become introspective at what soul care looks like for you.

Maureen is a Certified Soul Care Coach, a Radical Remission Facilitator, and fellow BC sister. Maureen is also a member of our TLP community and has led several popular workshops for our group in the past. If you'd like to learn more about her work, please visit www.maureenspielman.com

You're invited to join The Licorice Project and the ReVital Cancer Rehabilitation team on Wednesday, January 26 from 7:15-8:15pm for a virtual presentation focused on how exercise can be an impactful tool for those living with and beyond cancer. Karyn Holtz (PT MHS CT), the Center Manager of Rush PT in Mt. Prospect, will be presenting to our TLP community. Whether you are currently in treatment or a long-time survivor this should be an informative and interesting event.

Help Us Spread Unexpected Joy!

For the past nine years The Licorice Project has been committed to its mission of embracing and empowering people during every stage of the breast cancer journey and letting them know they are not alone. During this time, our TLP community has grown to serve hundreds of women in the Chicagoland area and beyond.

As a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, we rely on our donors to support this mission. This we are kicking off our 2021 Year-End Fundraising Campaign. The funds raised will allow us to continue hosting seasonal get-togethers and free workshops, sharing resources on our website and social media channels, connecting people through our private Facebook group, and sending out “TLP Treats” that let people know we are thinking about them.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at the TLP Wrapping Party! We had over 25 people help us wrap and assemble 60 treat bags (600 gifts in all!). We hope these "unexpected treats" provide comfort to women in our community who are newly diagnosed or undergoing treatment.
