150 blankets delivered to Cornerstone Community Outreach (CCO) today. CCO operates four shelters in Chicago with a transitional-housing model, providing individuals and families experiencing homelessness with a stable and supportive environment they can call home until they secure permanent housing or transition to the next stage of their journey. These blankets will go toward providing warmth and comfort to the CCO clients during this time. Thank you to our friends at for securing these blankets for us!

Thank you for pledging 79 cases of blankets in honor of Betsy’s 79th birthday last week! The first 10 cases arrived last week. 150 blankets total with 1000 more on their way! Thank you for helping us spread so much warmth to those who need it most!

Thank you to everyone for helping us spread warmth for Betsy’s birthday! We raised enough funds to provide 100 kids with air mattresses and comfort packs! That’s 100 more kids who will have warmth and comfort at night. 100 more kids getting the sleep they need and deserve at night. Thank you!

This Thursday would have been Betsy’s 79th birthday. Help us honor her by sponsoring a comfort pack! For every $100 raised, a child will receive a pillow, sheets, blanket, and a comforter. Thank you to the freshman Social Service Board for inviting us to speak to them today about how Betsy’s Blankets began and the impact we’ve had to date. And thank you for making blankets for us to provide warmth and comfort to those who need it most!

Delivery today to ! The comfort packs and blankets were all purchased with the funds raised during our Hardye’s Helpers fundraiser earlier this month. Thanks to everyone who attended and made this happen today!

It was the best day today visiting my alma mater, John Hersey High School, with , the president of our board and also a Hersey alum. We met with their class to talk about our days as a and how Betsy’s Blankets began and has evolved over the years.

Hersey’s SOS (service over self) group connects their students with nonprofits that need volunteers, teaching students the importance of giving back to their community. I was part of this group when I was a student there. They now also have an SOS class for seniors where they plan the activities with nonprofits and the SOS group. One of their activities recently was making tie blankets at a local senior center. The blankets were given to Betsy’s Blankets which we will now pass along to someone in need of warmth.

Today was a full circle moment, bringing me back to where my love for service and helping others began. And to have one of my high school besties, , still next to me, still supporting me and what I love means everything.

Please express our gratitude to the students who worked so hard to create these masterpieces and provided all of their love to make sure that these blankets were given to children who really needed them. We truly appreciate you all from the bottom of our hearts.” ♥️

We received this lovely message and pics from a teacher in Chicago yesterday. All of these tie blankets were made by volunteers on MLK Day this year. Thank you to the for helping us spread warmth!

Calling all kids! Join us March 1 at Dave & Busters in Vernon Hills 1-3pm to play games and raise funds for Betsy’s Blankets! 50% of each power card sold before the event will be donated to us. Each power card costs $20 and will provide $20 of playing time. Order a card (or more!) for your child and have them join us for an afternoon of fun and doing good! Link to order power cards can be found in our bio.

*Kids 12 and over can be dropped off for the event. Betsy’s Blankets board members will be present at the event.

Help us spread some warmth next Monday! We’ll be at the Women’s Club of Wilmette assembling comfort packs and making tie blankets. You can sign up for a shift - 10-11am or 11:15am-12:15 - in our bio! Hope to see you there!
