August is Child Vision Awareness Month

Every August, Child Vision Awareness Month serves as an important reminder of the role healthy vision plays in a child's growth, learning, and overall development. Clear vision is essential for success both in and out of the classroom, making regular eye exams and early detection of vision concerns especially important.

Many childhood vision problems can go unnoticed because children often do not realize they are having difficulty seeing. Early vision screenings can help identify potential concerns before they significantly impact learning, reading, or social development.

The North Coast Lions Club is committed to supporting children's eye health and will be conducting vision screenings for kindergarten students in the Willoughby-Eastlake Schools during late September and early October. These screenings help identify children who may need a comprehensive eye examination, giving families the opportunity to address vision concerns as early as possible.

Together, we can help ensure that every child has the opportunity to see clearly and reach their full potential. 🦁👓💛

While the North Coast Lions will not be meeting in August, our commitment to service and making a difference in our community continues every day. Whether through supporting vision programs, helping local families, awarding scholarships, or volunteering our time, we are proud to serve and create a positive impact.
