In this video, our volunteer Fabio Malaspina shows you how to tie a "Gold Chubby Chernobyl" fly. This is a dry fly that you can use to target: trout, bass and panfish. Fish it by itself or in conjunction with a nymph as a dropper.
Materials list:
Thread: 6/0 (or 70) Brown or other color to match dubbing
Hook: Daiichi 1280 Size 12, 2X long. Any 2X long dry fly hook will do. You can use hook sizes 8 to 16.
Tail: A few strands of Pearl Krystal Flash
Body: Tan 2mm foam and golden dubbing
Rubber legs: Brown rubber legs, or other colors/type
Wings: Polypropylene Yarn white, EP Fibers White, Hi-Vis White, or White Antron
Fly tying skill set rating = Easy
