Breathe Deep Cleveland is a grassroots event in Mayfield, OH, to raise funds and awareness for lifesaving lung cancer research, education, and support programs. Cara, who had been diagnosed with stage IV ALK+ non-small cell lung cancer just one year earlier, was an active cyclist and never-smoker. er, Lois, to lung cancer in 2009. While Cara's and Lois’ outcomes were tragic, there is so much good news about lung cancer research. Matt Hinzay, a Cleveland resident, was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer in 2011 when he was just 24 years old. Because of new treatments available, including clinical trials, Matt is hopeful for his future. LUNGevity Foundation provides significant funding for emerging lung cancer therapies. Breathe Deep Cleveland contiues on for the third year in memory of Cara, Lois, and all those we have lost to lung cancer and in hope for all of those who are currently fighting. 100% of the proceeds of the event will go to LUNGevity Foundation for lung cancer research, education, and support.
