The Salvation Army, an evangelical part of the universal Christian church established in 1865, has been supporting those in need, in His name, without discrimination for 129 years in the United States. Nearly 30 million Americans receive assistance each year through the broadest array of services ranging from providing food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims,

assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless, and opportunities for underprivileged children. The Salvation Army office is in The Mckinley Community Center but is separate from it. Our official name is:

GENERAL ASSISTANCE
vehicle fuel, utility payments, prescriptions, thrift store items, and depending on the circumstances, other things as well
Nov 1, 2017: vehicle fuel amendment-eligibility for gas cards will now also require proof of need, such as a dr appt card for med appts

SEASONAL OUTREACHES
may include: summer kids camp, back-to-school items, and a Christmas program. WHEN CALLING US
spell your last name, repeat your call back number, let us know if we can leave a message if you don't answer. When we return your, please be aware that we will most likely be calling from outside the office, so will block the number. We usually call within 24-48 hours and try only 3 times. WHEN COMING TO OUR OFFICE
access is from the outside right hand side of the building (You are not permitted to walk through it.) The door is labeled 'handicapped entrance,' number 7. You can drive up to the door by taking Windermere, which is off Lakeshore Blvd. There is an outside door bell just to the right of the door. WHAT TO BRING
1st visit: ID, proof of address, SS card, proof of income, (and possibly paperwork for the desired assistance)

subsequent visits: ID, proof of residence, you may need to update the form

ON THE FIRST VISIT
a small intake form needs completion, know your basic income and expenses
