This week on Wednesday, September 2, join us for a free webinar featuring four community leaders who will share their experiences and insights on Agency Funds and how they can support organizations for the long term.

Join Chris Drum, Superintendent of Recreation with Derby Recreation Commission; Jim Hunt, Grants Team Lead with Rotary Club of White Bear Lake ; Shale Lapping, President of IPEX; and Shane Rieffel, Chief Executive Officer of Brainerd Family YMCA for a free webinar on Wednesday, September 2, at 12:00PM.

Together, they’ll share their perspectives and experiences, offering practical insight into how an Agency Fund can help nonprofits build financial resources, invest for the future, and support their mission for years to come.

Whether your organization already has an Agency Fund or you’re simply curious about how one could benefit your nonprofit, this is an opportunity to learn from organizations putting these tools to work.

Congratulations to our grantee partner, Mid-Minnesota Development Commission, on their 2026 NADO award for our RideShare Pilot program!
WACF was pleased to invest in transportation options for Kandiyohi County residents-it has been great seeing Uber and Lyft drivers helping support people access basic needs like groceries and medical care in addition to increasing community engagement for those who do not drive. This project has helped seniors, those with varied abilities, youth and people who needed alternate options to make daily life easier.

When you support YOUR community foundation, you help ensure local innovation and needs are fueled for today and the future. Thank you to our donors who help make these investments possible and to our partners for setting big goals!

Mid-Minnesota Development Commission will be honored to receive a 2026 Excellence in Regional Transportation Award from the National Association of Development Organizations (NADO) for our Rideshare Support Project in Kandiyohi County.

Supported by a grant from the Willmar Area Community Foundation, this project helped establish reliable local rideshare service during evenings, weekends, and holidays. Since launching in July 2025, participating drivers have provided more than 1,700 local rides, helping connect residents to jobs, services, and community activities.

Thank you to our partners, drivers, and riders for helping make this award-winning project a success. We look forward to continuing to improve transportation options across our region! To learn more, visit https://mmrdc.org/ride-resources/
