Who We Are: Prairie Lakes Youth Programs is dedicated to providing a safe, secure, and positive environment for the youth that we serve. Prairie Lakes Youth Programs fosters an environment of therapeutic, cognitive, and evidence based programming. It is with growth that PLYP aims to give youth the essential tools to lead a successful life. Professionals: PLYP staff are committed to helping children and their families grow and strengthen their skills. Ongoing continuing education required by licensing, by individual needs of youth, and the individual needs of the staff are provided. PLYP develops individual treatment plans according to individuality of each youth. Placement: PLYP is owned and operated by the joint powers board of the following counties: Chippewa, Kandiyohi, Lac Qui Parle, Swift and Yellow Medicine and is located in Willmar, Minnesota. All PLYP residential programs are licensed and inspected by the Department of Corrections. Prairie Lakes Youth Programs are licensed to care for male and female youth ages 10-21 with placement from families and their teams, counties, social services, and/or the judicial system.
