E-bikes are opening up new ways to ride! Here are a few tips to keep in mind when you’re ready to roll:

• State law requires all bike riders (including e-bike riders!) to use a white headlight and rear reflector at night. Want extra visibility? Add a rear red light.
• On multi-use paths, share the space with people walking, biking and rolling. If you have a bike bell, use it. If not, a simple "On your left!" goes a long way.
• In Minnesota, you must be at least 15 years old to operate an e-bike.
• Many e-bikes have a removable battery. If yours does, take it with you when leaving your bike unattended to prevent theft or damage.

Just down the road!

If you want a cool vibes gravel ride, this one is great and coming up on Saturday. I've done it a few times and will again this year! The front few folks will be racing, but the majority of riders are just enjoying the route and comradery. You can register the morning of.

Slow down! Just because you can go 20 mph or more on your e-bike doesn’t mean you should.

Heavier bikes need more time to stop, so start braking earlier and give yourself plenty of space. Take it easy, stay alert and ride smart.
