This stray dog was found in the area of Spicer, MN. It was brought to Hawk Creek Animal Shelter on Thursday, August 20th.

Please come in with records/photo and gender ID to claim your pet during our open business hours. If you have information on who this animal belongs to, please send us a message to let us know.

🐾 We can do microchipping for only $25, plus tax. Please call to set up an appointment at our Shelter.

Pet of the Week: Meet Dragon!
Meet Dragon, a handsome 3-year-old Husky who is always ready for a good time! Dragon LOVES his squeaky toys… although catching them? Well, let’s just say he’s still working on that part. Toss a toy his way and you’re guaranteed some entertainment! Outside, Dragon is a big fan of “catch me if you can” and would love a home that can keep up with his playful Husky antics. So far, Dragon hasn’t been impressed by treats, but we’re convinced he just hasn’t discovered the right kind yet! He does well with other dogs and kids, making him a fun-loving guy who could be a great addition to an active family. If you’re looking for a playful, goofy, energetic companion who will keep you laughing, Dragon might just be your guy! Come meet Dragon and see if you’re the one he’s been waiting to chase into his next chapter!

Our hearts are FULL. 🥹

Today, 8 animals left the shelter and headed HOME! Toe Beans, T-Rex, K2, Ember, Saukra, Wess, Duke, and Zuko all found their forever families, and we couldn’t be more grateful.

To everyone who adopted, shared our posts, told a friend, stopped by, or simply cheered these animals on… THANK YOU. Every share matters. Every conversation matters. And today, eight animals are sleeping somewhere they can finally call home because our community showed up for them.

But we’re not done yet! We still have some incredible longtime residents waiting for their turn. 💙 Please help us spread the word about Lucky Charms, Odin, Floyd, Curly, and Casper! Their families are out there somewhere… let’s help them find each other.

It gives them a much needed break from the shelter and helps us learn even more about them outside of their kennels!

If you’re hoping to bring home a new best friend today, please take a few minutes to read through this flyer before you come! Being prepared helps make the adoption process smoother and sets both you AND your new pet up for success.

Thanks to the ASPCA, adoption fees are waived for qualifying animals! Adult dogs and cats qualify, kittens 6 months and younger are $40 + tax, and puppies under 6 months do not qualify for waived fees.

✨ One more VERY important reminder: Please bring a little extra patience and kindness with you today! Our staff will be working their tails off helping customers, processing adoptions, answering questions, caring for animals, and doing everything they can to help make the right matches. It takes a LOT of time, energy, and heart. Kindness goes a long way! ♥️

Tomorrow could be the day that changes everything for one of our animals.

Join us SATURDAY, August 15 from 12:00–5:00 PM for another adoption event at Hawk Creek Animal Shelter!

We’ve included flyers featuring some of our longest residents… animals who have watched others go home while they continue to wait for their turn. We’re crossing every finger, toe, and paw that tomorrow is finally their day.

Thanks to the incredible support of the ASPCA, adoption fees will be WAIVED for qualifying animals!

A few important details:
❤️ Adult dog & cat adoption fees are waived
🐱 Kittens 6 months & younger: $40 + tax
🐶 Puppies under 6 months do not qualify for waived fees
🏡 All adopters will still go through our adoption approval process so we can help make the best match possible.
