4 $1000 SCHOLARSHIPS this Year!!

The Friends of the Williston Library have helped many students with the Mary and John McDaniell Scholarships. This year we hope to help students interested in vocational training.
Vocational training, whether trade or technical, is important. The Friends of the Williston Library encourage students to apply for our scholarship to fund that training.
The Friends of the Williston Library will be offering four scholarships for graduates of Williston High School. Each $1000 scholarship can be used for continuing education at a university, community college, trade or technical school. The requirements are minimal for the scholarship. A student must have maintained at least a 2.5 grade point average throughout their high school career. Applicants are not required to be related to a member of the Friends of the Williston Library.
Applications are available in the Guidance Office. The process is simple. Students will need to write a 200 to 300 word essay on why they want to further their education. They should also submit three letters of recommendation. The application with a copy of their transcript should be delivered to the Guidance Counselor at Williston High School no later than March 20th, 2025.
This is the 14th year that the Friends have offered a scholarship. They look forward to receiving and reviewing many applications. With the high cost of post secondary education, it makes sense to apply whether you want to be a welder, doctor, teacher, or policeman. Assisting young people is just one of the many ways the Friends of the Williston Library support our community.
