Mrs. Carolyn Cohen, Published Author, Celebrated Artist and 2022 Levy County Historian of the Year. Come out and join us as Mrs. Cohen share stories, her personal reflections and experiences that shaped her work and art.

On Thursday, Sept. 14, we enjoyed lunch at Cheddars with special guests from United Way (Daniel and Mia). They shared a wonderful overview of the services provided by United Way. Last Thursday, 9/28 we started on another exciting quilting project with Ms Juanita Armbrister. Check out the WE SOAR Prime Time Enrichment Group. Our meetings are held at the Williston City Hall Community Room on the 1st, 3rd, and 4th Thursdays, from 12-2pm. We enjoy games, activities, prizes, karaoke, arts & crafts, snacks, an occasional light lunch, workshops, and more. Today, we welcomed Ms. Heather Parker and other representatives from the Another Way agency. They shared very valuable information about their awesome services, helping those who find themselves in a domestic violence or r**e crisis situation. Many thanks go out to this agency and the work that they do.

💜 Putting Ourselves In Her Shoes💜
Today, our Levy County advocates had the opportunity to provide an informative training, with the employees WE SOAR, INC., on the domestic and sexual violence services we offer and the support available to survivors in our community.
As part of the training, participants took part in In Her Shoes, an interactive activity that puts you in the shoes of a survivor and asks you to make decisions based on the circumstances, barriers, and choices they may face. It’s an eye opening experience that helps build empathy and a deeper understanding of the complexities of leaving an abusive relationship and seeking safety.
We’re grateful for the opportunity to educate, connect, and help our community better understand how we can support survivors. 💜

Together, we can create a community where survivors are believed, supported, and empowered.
