Daffodil Days of Vermont

Daffodil Days of Vermont Please consider volunteering with Daffodil Days! It's wonderful to share the first flower of spring!

Daffodil Days is one of the American Cancer Society's oldest and most beloved fundraising programs. As the first flower of spring, the daffodil represents hope and renewal. To the American Cancer Society, the daffodil symbolizes the hope we all share for a future where cancer no longer threatens those we love. Each spring, the Society offers daffodils (and now tulips!) to donors in appreciation fo

r a contribution. By sending bunches of daffodils to friends, family members, and people touched by cancer, you are sharing a message of hope and raising funds and awareness to help defeat cancer. For more than 35 years, the Daffodil Days program has empowered people to make a difference in the fight against cancer. Your support of the American Cancer Society Daffodil Days program helps give strength and hope to the millions of Americans facing cancer.

The American Cancer Society of Vermont amazing volunteers brings HOPE to Vermonters! 🌷🌷🌷
Start your Relay For Life or Making Strides team fundraising off by bringing HOPE to Vermont.
This year's program includes...
• For a $10 donation, receive one bunch of beautiful, fresh-cut daffodils
• For a $10 donation, instead of receiving flowers, you can send a virtual bunch of daffodils, when in-person flower delivery isn’t an option or if someone lives far away and you want to brighten their day
• For a $15 donation, take home mini-potted daffodils to keep or give to a loved one OR a bunch of 10 tulips

We are proud to support an organization with volunteers and staff who are deeply committed to diversity, inclusion, and equity. It has never been more important, and we thank you for living that commitment every day.

“It bears underscoring that the external climate and the issues of systemic injustice have a direct impact on our organization and our work. Diversity is a core value for the American Cancer Society of Vermont and the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network Vermont - ACS CAN; inclusion and equity are critical to our mission. As organizations deeply committed to addressing health disparities, we recognize that health equity cannot be fully achieved without equity in all aspects of American life.” - Gary Reedy, CEO American Cancer Society

Funding and conducting cancer research is part of who we are: the American Cancer Society funds more cancer research than any other non-government organization.

In a recent survey of currently funded ACS grantees, more than half reported that their work was paused due to the COVID-19 pandemic. To help our grantees restart their work, we're offering extensions for current grant funding due to expire in 2020.

Cancer hasn't stopped, so neither will we.

Making the decision to close our Hope Lodge in Burlington, VT to cancer patients in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic was extremely difficult. But, our beds may soon be filled with health care workers from The University of Vermont Medical Center– to rest between shifts, or overnight, free of charge.
