We failed to get a group photo at the start of our pick-up, but 11 people- ages 5 and up- gathered together to clean up Williston, today.

In total the group managed to pick up 16 bags of trash, 2 tires, miscellaneous Styrofoam, cardboard, and house siding!

The group picked up the corner of 37 and Williston Way, all of Edwards, Elm and half of Peacock streets, and the Subway/Family Dollar parking 🅿️ lots.

Thank you to everyone who braved the heat to beautify the town of Williston. Please remember to Keep Barnwell County Beautiful!

Blackville's litter pickup for Saturday June 20, 2026 was a success. Thanks to everyone who participated.

There were 19 people who participated in this event. Thanks to Blackville's Mayor Ronnie Pernell and Councilwoman Ann Pernell, Councilman Bruce Johnson participated. We had several people from Barnwell and a group from Bethany Church who helped.

The group picked up on highway US78 East and West. We had people picking up litter during the week in the town of Blackville. A total of 31 bags were picked up.

Blackville has scheduled a litter pickup for Saturday, June 20th, 2026 beginning at 8am.

The location to meet is the Blackville Library, 19420 Solomon Blatt Ave. Supplies will be provided.

The Barnwell County Council presented Justin Kinard on April 14th a resolution for winning PalmettoPride art contest for the Lowcountry region.

The twelve counties that make up this region are Allendale, Bamberg, Barnwell, Beaufort, Berkley, Calhoun, Charleston, Colleton, Dorchester, Hampton, Jasper, and Orangeburg.

The last two pictures are from the April 2nd presentation by Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette. Justin is a 4th grade student at Kelly-Edwards school in Williston is pictured with his parents and his teacher. Bernard Aidomokhai.

This morning, a team of 13 adults and 8 children took to the streets of. Williston to clean up trash. The group managed to pick up 22 bags of trash.

We would like to thank the members of Bethany Church in Barnwell, and Barnwell 4H Horse Club for helping with our beautification efforts this morning.

Please mark your calendars 🗓️ for our next clean up event in Williston. It will be on Saturday, July 11th from 9am to 11am.

Keep Barnwell County beautiful had great participation in SC SWEEPS.

Thanks to Town of Blackville Councilwoman Ann Pernell and Darlene Brandt for tackling Litchfield Street at Walmart. They picked ip 9 bags of trash. This Street requires more work.


Wellington Street from Marlboro to Jackson 0.1 mile required 2 hours and resulted in 3 bags.

Wellington East had 1 bag and West had 2 bags.
