On Thursday, October 6th, plans were unveiled for a multi-use facility in Williston, ND. As our community is severely lacking ice time for the growing hockey and skating clubs alike (youth & college), a venue space for the City of Williston to host large events and space for our Parks and Recreation’s growing youth programs, it is time to bring forth a solution.

We’ve partnered with Icon Architectural Group to develop the Energy Center. The current design includes a multi-purpose arena for larger capacity events and large arena crowds. Youth & high school teams, tournaments and college hockey game crowds will drive this facility from an ice usage standpoint.

Additionally, a large column free floor area of almost 20,000 SF will provide the City of Williston with a venue space to host concerts, boat & RV shows, exhibits, and more. The design of the project is currently covers 125,000 square feet, and estimated in the $26-30 Million range, depending on final amenities.

With support from the following entities, we have entered our first phase of fundraising: City of Williston, Williston Parks and Recreation, Williams County, Williston State College, Williston Basin Skating Club and Williston’s CVB.

We’d like to express our sincere thank you to Mayor Howard Klug, Harrison Aide (WBSC), Heidi Brenna and Kyle Kvamme (Icon), Joe Barsh (Williston Parks and Recreation), Hunter Berg (Williston State College), Cory Hanson (Williams County), Lynn Leininger, Amy Krueger (CVB) for speaking at the event and sharing your support of this project publicly.

Lastly, thank you to the Legion, Coke and Rivers Edge for sponsoring the event and providing food and beverages.
