Repost

It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the loss of one of our own, Firefighter Hans Estrada. Your passing leaves a deep pain throughout the Miami Beach Fire Department family, and we will forever miss your smile, your presence and the impact you made on those around you.

This heartbreaking loss is a reminder that mental health matters. Behind every uniform is a human being, and no one should struggle alone. We encourage anyone who may be hurting to reach out, speak up and lean on those around you for support.

Rest easy brother. You will always be a part of our family and will never be forgotten.

First Responders give their lives in many ways. Prayers for his families please.

🕊️ END OF WATCH: SATURDAY, MARCH 21, 2026 🕊️
🇺🇸 Deputy Sheriff Steven Bruner
📍 Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, Florida
Today, we remember a true public servant… a man who gave everything he had to protect others.
Deputy Sheriff Steven Bruner suffered a fatal medical emergency after tirelessly assisting residents evacuating from the devastating Mossy Pond Fire — a fire that has scorched over 500 acres, destroyed homes, and displaced dozens of families.
Even in the face of danger, chaos, and destruction… he ran toward it.
He chose service. He chose others. He chose duty.
đźš’ Over 100 people evacuated
🏠 15 homes destroyed
đź’” 43 people left displaced
And in the middle of it all… Deputy Bruner stood the line.
This is what heroism looks like. Not for recognition… not for headlines… but because it’s who they are.
đź’™ He died serving his community. He died a hero.
Please join us in praying for Deputy Bruner’s family, his brothers and sisters at the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, and every person impacted by this tragedy.
🇺🇸 We will never forget his sacrifice.
🖤 Rest easy, Deputy Bruner. We’ve got it from here.

Prayers for her families

It is with heavy hearts that we share that our Communications Manager, Kelly Cruz, passed away unexpectedly Thursday while on a family vacation.

Kelly was an important part of the Georgetown Police Department family. She served our community with care, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to helping people understand the work our officers and dispatchers do each day. She cared deeply about this department and the community we serve.

Many of the people you speak with when you call 911 or our non-emergency line worked closely with Kelly every day. She was their teammate, their advocate, and their friend. Today and in the days ahead, some of them may be carrying a little more sadness while they continue to answer calls and serve our community.

Our communications team will continue doing what they always do: showing up for the people who need them most. If you happen to interact with one of them in the coming days, a little patience and kindness will mean a great deal.

Our thoughts are with Kelly’s family and loved ones as they navigate this heartbreaking loss. We are grateful for the time we had with her and for the care she showed this department and our community.

Please keep Kelly’s family and the members of our communications team in your thoughts.

He went out to save a life… and never came home.

U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer 2nd Class Tyler Jaggers, a rescue swimmer stationed at Air Station Astoria, has died after suffering critical injuries during a rescue mission off the Pacific Northwest coast.

On February 27, a Coast Guard helicopter crew launched more than 120 miles offshore near Cape Flattery to evacuate a mariner suffering a medical emergency. During the dangerous nighttime rescue, Jaggers was seriously injured while carrying out the mission.

For days he fought for his life surrounded by his fellow Coast Guard family. On March 5, he passed away.

Tyler joined the Coast Guard in 2022 and served in Astoria beginning in 2024. In recognition of his extraordinary bravery and sacrifice, he was posthumously awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and advanced in rank.

Coast Guard rescue swimmers live by a simple but powerful motto:

“So Others May Live.”

Tyler Jaggers lived those words until the very end.

The Oregon Coast community is mourning tonight. Please keep his family, friends, and the crews at Air Station Astoria in your thoughts.

Rest easy, hero. Your watch is over. 🇺🇸⚓

If you appreciate the men and women of the U.S. Coast Guard, please take a moment to honor Petty Officer Tyler Jaggers.

With profound sorrow and deep sadness, HCSO shares that one of our deputies took his own life today. Deputy Jeremiah Stewart, 36, worked with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office for seven years and is a U.S. Army veteran.

“Today, our entire agency is grieving. We lost a member of our HCSO family, and that pain is shared by every deputy and employee, said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “We are lifting up this deputy’s loved ones in prayer and ensuring our deputies have the care, resources and support they need. To anyone who may be struggling, please know there is help and hope. You are not alone.”

If you or someone you know is in crisis, help is just a phone call away. Call the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay at 211.

It is with profound sadness that Hillsborough County Fire Rescue announces the passing of our beloved sister, Driver Engineer Jeannie Thomas.

For several years, Jeannie fought a courageous battle with cancer, facing it with remarkable strength, honesty, and faith. Even in the midst of her fight, she continued to put others first, encouraging those around her to care for their health, prioritize screenings, and cherish time with loved ones. She loved this department deeply and never stopped hoping to return to serve alongside her brothers and sisters.

D/E Thomas dedicated more than 26 years of service to HCFR, touching countless lives through her compassion and commitment both inside and beyond the firehouse. She was a mother, a wife, a veteran, a firefighter, and a paramedic whose legacy will continue to inspire.

Today, we mourn with her husband Captain Jason Thomas, her three children, and her family, while honoring a life defined by courage, service, and love. Please keep her family and all who loved her in your thoughts and prayers.
