New Student Registration day is always one of our favorites! 🎉

The Child Nutrition and Transportation departments are proud to be here welcoming new families as they register their students. There are lots of excited smiles, a few nervous questions, and plenty of opportunities to help parents feel at ease.

Whether it's answering questions about transportation or helping families get ready for school meals, we're here to make the transition as smooth as possible. We can't wait to welcome all of our new WildKats this school year!

Today our amazing Custodial Department took time to celebrate their incredible team, and we were lucky enough to be invited to join them for lunch!
It was so much fun to watch them laugh, celebrate each other, and simply enjoy the day together. They work hard behind the scenes every single day, and they don’t often get the chance to slow down and be recognized.
A huge thank you to Manda and Steph Holt for making the day so special for the custodial staff and for including us in the celebration! We had a great time and truly appreciate all you do!

🌱 CN Gardyn Update 🌿

Exciting things are happening in our Gardyn! We officially have CUCUMBERS!!🥒

Our tomato and pepper plants are doing great, and it won’t be long before they’re ready to harvest!

Meanwhile, our mint, oregano, basil, and all our other herbs are growing beautifully and filling the garden with fresh flavors and amazing aromas!

Planning to ride the bus this school year? 🚌✅

All new and returning students who plan to ride a Willis ISD school bus during the 2026–27 school year must complete the transportation registration process.

To ensure bus service on the first day of school, registration MUST be completed by Wednesday, August 5.

Transportation registration is completed as part of the district's:
▪️ Annual (Returning Student) Enrollment, or
▪️ New Student Enrollment

There is no separate transportation registration form.

If you have not received the Returning Student Registration email, please contact your campus registrar or Lucy Alexander at [email protected].

New to Willis ISD? Your student may not appear in SchoolCafe right away. If you're applying for meal benefits, simply add them as a Pending Student on your application.

✨ Meet the Team! ✨
They say it takes a village…we like to think it takes a great office team (and maybe a little Dutch Bros).
Here’s the crew that keeps Willis ISD Child Nutrition moving behind the scenes!
💜 Meet Mandy!
Our Child Nutrition Secretary, eligibility expert, customer service extraordinaire, and the person who somehow keeps all the details straight. Mandy has been with Willis ISD for 19 years, including 14 years in Child Nutrition. She has a servants heart and is always ready to help students, families, managers, and staff.
💜Meet Lori!
Our Food Production Supervisor, Lori has 15 years on Child Nutrition experience and has been with Willis ISD for 2 years. Lori loves training others and sharing her knowledge, and she’s the one who keeps us all on track. If there’s a better way to do something, she’s probably already figured it out.
💜Meet Jasmin!
Our Financial Clerk and everyone’s favorite person…especially our vendors! After all, who doesn’t love the person who makes sure you get paid?😂 Jasmin is bubbly, energetic, and one of the hardest-working people you’ll ever meet! Around the office we call her Speedy because paperwork doesn’t have time to collect dust on her desk!
💜Meet Sharon!
Sharon is the Assistant Director. She’s been working in Child Nutrition for 24 years and joined Willis ISD 2 years ago. She truly loves what she does—from menu planning and compliance to finding creative ways to make school meals exciting. If it involves USDS regulations, recipes, marketing, or spreadsheets, she’s probably having a great time!
💜And finally….Meet Michael!
Michael is our Director of Child Nutrition and the leader who brings us all together. He’s been with Willis ISD for 6 years and has built a team that works hard, supports one another, and isn’t afraid to laugh along the way. Around our office, laughter is almost guaranteed because Michael is absolutely hilarious. Imagine Vince Vaughn in a Child Nutrition office—that’s about as close as we can describe it!😂 His quick wit keeps us smiling, even during the busiest days, and leadership has created a culture where people enjoy coming to work, grow professionally, and always keep students at the center of what we do!!
We’re all different, but together we make a pretty great team. Every menu planned, invoice paid, training held, question answered, and problem solved helps ensure our students receive healthy meals every school day!
Thanks for getting to know us—we’re proud to serve the students, staff, and families of Willis ISD! 💜

Throughout the 2025–2026 school year, our Willis ISD community demonstrated incredible kindness and compassion by making monetary contributions to support Willis ISD students participating in the National School Lunch Program.
