The last year has been difficult for most, and unfortunately, Bridgewood Farms is no exception. Bridgewood has been and is going through a very difficult time and they need our help. When the pandemic hit, they closed for 2 ½ months with no services for their Intellectually and Developmentally Disabled adults. Many of their special needs friends felt at a loss - social isolation created a void. The separation of their daily activities affected their physical, mental, spiritual, and social well-being. When programming resumed last June, only 30% of the population returned to day services. All programming has continued to be at the highest quality but unfortunately, Bridgewood Farms has been unable to offer extracurricular activities. It was a struggle and continues to be daily for their special needs friends along with their dedicated staff. The fear of COVID, truly impacted the way services are provided. Although Bridgewood Farms continues to purchase PPE’s and sanitation supplies to keep the facility clean and hygienic, they are doing so for fewer people. Not only has Bridgewood not returned to full capacity, but the lost revenue from that has led to a reduction in force along with other operational expenses.

Just as it felt like we could all see the light at the end of the tunnel that is 2020, winter storm Uri hit. This left Bridgewood's water well completely inoperable, as it still is to this day. They are currently using porta potty’s to accommodate the loss of water in their bathrooms. Although an insurance claim has been filed, they just recently found out that their claim has been denied and that it was not covered under their insurance policy. This yet another huge blow to their financial situation as well as their daily operation.

Please join us in helping Bridgewood Farms. With your donation, they will be able to offset the expense of the new water well, provide necessary classroom supplies to their varied programs, provide weekly/monthly activities to combat social isolation, and assist by sustaining their daily financial operations. Bridgewood Farms continues to be steadfast in their resolve, always making sure the needs of their clients are their 1st priority.

Clayton Edwin John Sparks

Our dear friend, brother, and son, Clayton Edwin John Sparks passed away on January 12, 2019, in Colorado. He was born on May 23, 1994, in Largo, Florida to Larry Kirby Sparks and Beth Denise Whittier Sparks.

Clayton touched the lives of many people and is deeply missed by everyone who knew him. To say Clayton was a force of nature could not be more of an understatement. At the early age of his passing, Clayton was regarded as a successful physicist, engineer, and entrepreneur. After completing undergraduate studies at Southwestern University, where he was a member of the baseball team, Clayton completed his post-graduate studies at the University of Houston. While completing post-grad studies, Clayton and his closest childhood friend, Cameron Johnson, started a successful home-renovation business. Due to the high quality of work, and energy the friends brought to every project, what started as a modest side-hustle, quickly became the fastest-growing custom home builder in the area.

In addition to Clayton's success on the field, in the classroom, and on the job-site, what Clayton was best known for was his overwhelming generosity and compassion. Clayton did not only work hard and play hard, he loved hard.
