September 5th is International Day of Charity—and we’re taking a page out of Dolly Parton’s book!

From gifting millions of books through her Imagination Library to lifting up local communities, Dolly has shown us all how a simple book can transform lives and spread sweetness.

Here at Willington Bookshop, we believe books bring people together. Whether you’re sharing a favorite read with a neighbor, finding a pre-loved treasure on our shelves, or supporting us through charitable donations, every single act adds up.

Thank you for investing in our mission and helping keep local history alive!

What is Willington on the Way?

We’re a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the history and unique character of Willington. We believe the best way to keep history alive is to invite people in, encourage curiosity, and create places where the past can be enjoyed today.

And that’s where our Bookshop, Curiosity Shop, and History Center come in! ❤️

📚The Willington Bookshop — Four historic buildings filled with more than 40,000 pre-loved books, with most priced at $3 or less. Every book you purchase helps support the History Center and upkeep our historic buildings

🔎The Curiosity Shop — A treasure hunter’s delight, from unique collectibles and pieces of the past, you never know what you’ll discover. Like The Bookshop proceeds help support the preservation of Willington’s historic buildings and the History Center’s collections.

🏛️The History Center — Explore exhibits, artifacts and stories of the people and events that helped shape our community. It’s a place to learn, remember, and appreciate the history that surrounds us.

Together, these places help preserve history, support our mission, and keep Willington alive and welcoming for generations to come.

And none of it happens without our amazing volunteers, donors, visitors, and supporters. ❤️

So, if you haven’t visited lately—or if you’ve never been—come get acquainted. We can't wait to show you around!!

Before they were star-studded Hollywood films or trending top-10 Netflix series, they were page turning novels!

🎬 John Grisham took over cinema with iconic legal thrillers like The Pelican Brief, Runaway Jury, The Client, The Firm and A Time to Kill.
📺 Harlan Coben took over streaming with addictive mini-series like Fool Me Once, The Stranger, Stay Close, Safe, and The Innocent.
