It is with great sadness that the New Jersey Department of Corrections shares the passing of Correctional Police Sergeant Kelly Johnson.

Sergeant Johnson began his career with the NJDOC on April 30, 2004, at Central Reception & Assignment Facility, and was promoted to Correctional Police Sergeant at the Adult Diagnostic & Treatment Center on January 26, 2013 where he served until his untimely passing on August 27, 2026.

Sergeant Johnson was a valued member of the ADTC family. His dedicated service, professionalism, and commitment to the facility and the Department will be remembered by those who had the privilege of working alongside him.

The NJDOC extends our condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues during this very difficult time.

ATTENTION PFRS RETIREES

On September 14, 2026, ballots will be mailed out to all retirees of the Police and Fire Retirement System for this year‘s trustee election.

The winner of the election will be announced at the December 14, 2026, PFRSNJ Board of Trustees meeting and the new Trustee will begin his term on February 1, 2027.

It is extremely important that retirees fill out their ballot and cast their vote.

Vincent Siracusa Jr., block #1 on the ballot, is the endorse candidate of the New Jersey State PBA, PBA Local 600 and many other retiree organizations throughout the State of New Jersey.

Vince has an impressive background, we along with many others, believe that he will be the Trustee you were all hoping for. Available, informative and devoid of empty promises, Vince will be an excellent advocate for the retiree.
