We are pleased and excited to share that Martin County has a new NC Senior Tar Heel Legislature representative. Below is a press release highlighting the NC Senior Tar Heel Legislature proceedings at the recent General Session held in Winston-Salem, NC. The Martin County Delegate, Jennifer Fields, and Pitt County Delegate, Alice Keene, were both in attendance advocating for aging issues affecting local, Eastern NC communities. Their volunteer service is invaluable within this nonpartisan collective working to propose policy solutions to improve the quality of life for older adults across NC.

What a wonderful day we had celebrating our VOLUNTEERS 🎊

Martin County Adult & Aging Services and Martin County Council on Aging could not thrive without every single volunteer that chooses to spend their precious time with us and helping our staff and participants! It takes a very special person to spend hours out of their days, weeks and/or months to help us, with no expectations of anything in return, and some do it day in and day out. I hope that every single one of you felt the love and appreciation today.

Whether you volunteer at our Williamston, Jamesville, Oak City or Robersonville Site, The Bargain Shoppe, with Congregate Meals, Home Delivered Meals, SHIIP, Quilters or any of the various activities and events that we have, WE APPRECIATE YOU 💝

And a BIG shout out to our staff who made today possible and seamless! You guys are literally Rockstars 😎 And thanks to Hardison's Carolina Barbeque Restaurant for our wonderful meal and Cakes By Becky for the delicious dessert!!

If you don't volunteer and would like a special opportunity to spend time with us, please call us or stop by anytime!!

Please join us on Wednesday, June 17th for our Elder Abuse Prevention event! We look forward to seeing you all there 💜
