Williamsport Lycoming Arts Council dba/Lycoming Arts has been an active part of Williamsport and its surrounding community since 1960. Celebrating 65 Years, we strive to bring an area rich in artistic talents to the public. Lycoming Arts now has four main "legs" of our organization:

PublicARTWORKS - We have been instrumental in bringing visual art, sculptures and murals to the downtown and beyond

. Pieces from the River Walk's Wood Hick to "Undercurrent" at the Regional Airport in Montoursville . Work is ongoing for our newest endeavor Sanctuary Park is a pocket park on Park Ave

Arts in the Neighborhood (AIN) was established to answer the need to "bridge" the gap between downtown and neighborhoods uncovered through our work with the Lycoming County Comprehensive Plan, AIN encompass a number of initiatives. mobile art cart, College Town Gallery & our student Youth Art Galleries, Workshops & classes and our Lycoming Arts Gallery give local artist a place to showcase their artwork

Williamsport First Friday™ - Brings arts and the community together in a monthly celebration of the arts and craftspeople and all our area has to offer. Pop Up theatre, Music, our fantastic culinary offerings from local restaurants all combine to enrich our lives and make our community a destination. Lycoming Arts Film Office - Offering assistance to those looking to use our area in films and more. We believe that Art heals and adds to the overall quality of life for a community. Calling all local artists! This is your official final reminder to submit your work for the Lycoming Arts Juried Art Showcase 2026.

Whether you work in paint, photography, clay, or fiber, we want to see your vision. Don’t miss the chance to have your work featured at the beautiful Park Place this June!

🎨 The Details:

Submission Options: Submit 1 piece for $25 or 2 pieces for $35.

Media: Both 2D and 3D artwork are welcome (pottery, jewelry, fiber art, etc.).

Artist Reception: Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM.

Location: Park Place, 800 West 4th Street, Williamsport.

⚠️ Quick Guidelines Before You Submit:

2D Work: Max size approx. 24" x 28". Must be properly framed, matted, and securely wired for hanging (no sawtooth hangers, please!). Canvas-wrapped photos are exempt from framing but must be wired.

3D Work: Displayed on open tables/shelves. If your piece isn't self-supporting, please bring your own display mount.

Pro Tip: Don't forget to label the back of your art with your contact info!

Do you believe in the power of the arts to bring people together?

Lycoming Arts relies on volunteers to keep our galleries, festivals, and neighborhood programs going strong.

We’re seeking volunteers to help with:

◼️ Williamsport First Friday™
◼️ Public ArtWorks
◼️ Arts in the Neighborhood
◼️ Galleries and Art Shows
◼️ Children’s Crafts & Workshops
◼️ Susquehanna River School of Art (SRSA)
◼️ Lycoming Arts Film Office
◼️ River Valley Film Festival
◼️ Storytellers Book Fair
◼️ German Christmas Market
◼️ Other Events, Activities, & Workshops

No experience is required (Must be 18 or older). Volunteer opportunities range from one-time events to ongoing roles in areas like:

◼️ Greeting visitors and customer service
◼️ Kids activities and hands-on art stations
◼️ Gallery staffing and receptions
◼️ Marketing, outreach, and office help
◼️ Hospitality and support for artists and filmmakers

Author Spotlight: Mark Mussina

Mark Mussina is the author of A Mile in Her Shoes, his first novel to date.

In addition to fiction writing, Mark’s previous writing credits include the screenplay for the motion picture A Bet’s a Bet, starring Mena Suvari and Kenan Thompson.

Mark currently serves his first term as a Lycoming County Commissioner. Prior to public service, his professional background included work as a licensed realtor, radio talk show host, and high school basketball coach.

He also serves on the Board of Directors for Community Theatre League.

We’re excited to welcome Mark as part of this year’s Storytellers Book Fair presented by Lycoming Arts alongside 23 authors and illustrators from across our region.

Author Spotlight: Michael Miele

Michael Miele writes fantasy and science-fiction stories that blend imaginative worlds with deeply human themes — including identity, connection, romance, and the fight for fairness and belonging.

His featured title, Tales of Scales, is a short story anthology collecting 10 dragon-centered stories into one volume. Readers who enjoy q***r characters, fantasy adventure, romance, and stories rooted in worker solidarity and resilience will find plenty to discover throughout the collection.

Michael’s work brings another unique voice and perspective to this year’s Storytellers Book Fair presented by Lycoming Arts.

We’re excited to welcome Michael as part of this year’s lineup alongside 23 authors and illustrators from across our region.

The scene is set. And our authors will arrive soon.

We’re looking forward to welcoming you to the 2nd Annual Storytellers Book Fair presented by Lycoming Arts this evening at Lycoming College.

Tonight’s event will feature 23 authors and illustrators from across our region, along with featured discussions by author PJ Piccirillo and publishing expert John Shableski, community activities, book signings, raffles, wine pull, and more.

Thank you to everyone who helped bring this event together — our volunteers, authors, illustrators, committee members, and supporters of the literary arts.

We’re especially thankful to our host, Lycoming College, for welcoming this event to campus and helping create a space for storytelling, creativity, and community connection.
