A new addition to the Kids United Playground at Cochran Primary School. Our Club purchased this communication board (specifically for playgrounds) that are accessible, visual tools designed to help children with communication challenges interact on playgrounds. These boards allow non-verbal children to communicate using symbols to "play with both hands".

Builders Club - "WAMS" - Williamsport Area Middle School - Club officers for the 2026-2027 academic year. In the photo from left: Jack Houston (Kiwanis Williamsport adviser and representative), Lovell Buxton (Vice President), Charlie Vanaskie (Treasurer), Lyla Wyatt (President), Rachel Smock (Timekeeper), Allie Wright (secretary). WAMS "faculty adviser" is Mr. Michael Lundy. A total of 24 students are members of the Builders Club and look forward to a positive year of service projects and fundraising for children in our community. "Builders Club" is a global student-led organization that provides members with learning and experiences to build character, contribute through service and develop leadership".

Kiwanis Williamsport Club - Installation of Officers at October 1, 2026 Meeting - start of the "New Kiwanis Year: 2026-2027";

Chris Wallace - Lieutenant Governor - installed Tammey Edkin as "President" for this upcoming Kiwanis Year, with Conrad Schlesinger as Secretary and Peter Wallace as Treasurer - and the Club Board Members.

Thank you to Ana I. Gonzalez-White, Director of Development for Families United Network, for our program today. This state-wide organization offers hope and support through a broad spectrum of services, including foster care, adoption and peer support. More than 14,000 children in Pennsylvania are currently placed in foster care, and more than 4,000 are awaiting permanent homes to call their own. Kiwanis Club of Williamsport - Thursday meeting - September 17, 2026: Presentation included a "recap" of the 109th Kiwanis District Convention that was held August 13-16th in Gettysburg, PA.
Highlights were given by Jack Houston, Conrad Schlesinger, Chris Wallace, and Tammey Edkin.
Preview of "2027 Kiwanis District events include "Midyear Conference" in Bedford, PA; State District Convention in Lancaster, PA; and the "International Convention" will take place in Dallas, Texas.

Kiwanis Williamsport Meeting - held on Thursday - September 10 - for noon Luncheon Meeting. Thank you to Erin Timmins for her comprehensive presentation explaining the "Jason Foundation" and Geisinger Health Care support connection.
Erin has an outreach and covering a total of 13 counties in Northern, Central, and Western Pennsylvania. In the photo - Jack Houston - President of Kiwanis and Erin Timmins.
The Jason Foundation provides resources, materials, and information that are suitable for teachers, coaches, school personnel, youth workers, first responders, foster parents, families, and outreach to youth struggling with challenges at home and in school.
