Williamsport Community Woodshop

Thanks to the sponsors and the community for supporting our inaugural event. As part of Factory Works "Gather at the Factory" event, the Woodshop provided guests the opportunity to cut a groove with a plow plane, and showed the processes required to take rough wood through the process of creating a dovetail box, create a segmented bowl, and make a cutting board. We hope to see everyone again next year at our next event. Stop by the Woodshop anytime for a tour (check the website or Google for hours).

Dozens of community members attended the “Gather at the Factory” fundraiser and generously supported accessible arts programming from Factory Works.

Always improving the experiences for our members, 4 new workbenches perfect for wood holding and using hand tools are nearing completion. Two are sanded and oiled with two to go. These were built by one of our volunteers. Stop by, tour the Williamsport Community Woodshop, a program of Factory Works, and consider a membership for you or a family member.

Yesterday the Eagles Mere Friends of the Arts partnered with the Woodshop to hold a workshop on making coasters and small serving trays. Led by our member Dave Carson the group had a lot of fun creating with their friends.

Another little round top table/plant stand completed here in the Williamsport Community Woodshop. The spiral post was made on our Legacy router lathe. Burgundy epoxy fill on the top. Finish is sprayed high gloss lacquer.
