On June 2, the Leadership Lycoming Class of 2026 gathered for its final Program Day at the Little League Complex. Today, class reporter Felecia Everetts shares highlights and reflections from the experience.

The day began with a presentation from Andrea Reed, President of UPMC Muncy, who discussed her career journey and the experiences that shaped her leadership style. She emphasized the importance of growth, adaptability, and lifelong learning while also providing insight into healthcare trends and challenges facing Lycoming County.

Next, Brian McClintock led the class on a behind-the-scenes tour of the Little League Complex. Participants learned about the preparation required to host the annual Little League Baseball World Series and visited player accommodations, interview spaces, and the iconic field. The class also toured the World of Little League Museum, where Adam Thompson shared the history of Little League and its impact on communities around the world.

Following lunch provided by Kitchen Repose, Brittany Fischer and Adam Dincher guided a discussion reflecting on the year’s experiences. The conversation focused on lessons learned, personal growth, and ways to remain engaged as Leadership Lycoming alumni.

The afternoon continued with a presentation from Davie Jane Gilmore titled “What Is Next for You?” She encouraged participants to reflect on their accomplishments and consider how they will apply what they learned through the program. Patrick Wilson, Little League International CEO, then shared insights from his 34-year career with Little League and offered leadership lessons drawn from his experience.

To conclude the day, the class visited Wine & Design for a painting activity that provided an opportunity to relax, connect, and celebrate the relationships built throughout the year.

On May 14, the Class of 2026 participated in Leadership Lycoming’s Environment and Energy Program Day. Today, we hear from class reporters Jared Cromley and Doug Fletcher:

“We visited several organizations and facilities that play an important role in Lycoming County’s infrastructure and environmental sustainability. The day helped us better understand environmental management, transportation, public utilities, and the systems that keep our region running.

Our first stop was the Lycoming County Landfill, where we learned how waste is safely managed and monitored throughout the region. We also toured the recycling center and saw how recyclable materials are sorted and processed, while learning about the challenges facing recycling efforts in the county.

Next, we visited the River Valley Transit Authority Bus Depot, where we learned about fleet management, vehicle maintenance, daily transit scheduling, and the role public transportation plays in connecting communities across the region.

Following the tour, we traveled to the historic Peter Herdic House for lunch and a tour of the mansion. The meal — especially the dessert — was fantastic.

Our next stop was the Williamsport Water Authority Treatment Plant. We observed the water filtration process and toured the water testing laboratory to learn more about maintaining water quality.

We concluded the day at the First Community Foundation Partnership with Matt Henderson, owner of Henderson Consulting. He spoke about the Marcellus Shale, the natural gas industry, rising energy demand, and the impact data centers could have on the energy grid if additional energy sources are not developed.

The day wrapped up with a presentation from PPL about incentives available to help businesses improve energy efficiency.”

Thank you to Jared and Doug for a great recap of the day!

Special thanks to our annual sponsors River Valley Health, UPMC, PPL Electric Utilities, Hudock Capital Group; our program day sponsors Lycoming Leadership Class of 2024, Range Resources, Fastbridge Fiber, IBG Business, Gary Papay; and to The Peter Herdic House for a wonderful lunch!
