Williamsport Symphony Youth Orchestra & Junior Strings The WSYO was organized in 1986 for the purpose of developing musical talent in the north central Pennsylvania area.

The Williamsport Symphony Youth Orchestra is designed to facilitate talented and motivated young musicians in the region develop their full potential as orchestral performers by providing them with music education programs and performance opportunities. The organization is firmly commited to the importance of school music.

Bravo to the amazing WSYO musicians and their collegues who performed with the PMEA Districts 7 and 8 Central Region Orchestra this weekend! Dr. Soo Han of George Mason University led an epic performance that concluded with Respighi’s Pines of Rome.

⭐SOLOIST SPOTLIGHT⭐
Tuesday, March 17th 🎻🎶 Williamsport Symphony Orchestra Young Artists Competition winner William Ciabattari will be joining the WSO, to perform the music of Jean Sibelius's Violin Concerto during our presentation of Video Games in Concert!
Mr. Ciabattari attends Williamsport Area High School, where he has been a featured soloist and concertmaster for three years. He has recently performed in area pit orchestras for musicals, the Nutcracker Ballet orchestra, the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra, and the NEPA Choral Society orchestra. William was honored to attend PMEA All-State Chorus in 2024 and All-State Orchestra last year as fourth chair, first violin. He plans to continue focusing on the violin in his collegiate studies.
The WSO is thrilled to feature this upcoming talent, and proud to say we knew him first before he goes on to conquer the world of music!

On Tuesday, March 17 at 7:30 PM at the Journey Bank Community Arts Center the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra brings epic video game soundtracks to the stage.

WSYO will take the stage side-by-side with the WSO for one featured piece, sharing in a powerful full-orchestra experience.

Featuring music from Halo, Skyrim, Final Fantasy VII, God of War, The Last of Us, Kingdom Hearts, and more!

Plus a special performance of the Sibelius Violin Concerto by 2026 Young Artists Competition Winner William Ciabattari.
