As budgets are decreased and funding is harder to obtain to care for homeless and abused animals, shelters across the country are moving toward a greater focus on volunteers to assist the shelter in its fundraising efforts. The bottom line is that an increased effort in helping shelters raise funds is necessary to keep the doors open. Some people feel uncomfortable or shy about fundraising. Howeve
r, it can be a fun, rewarding experience and a way to let your friends and family know you are helping a great cause while fulfilling your volunteer commitment to the Lycoming County SPCA. Let us help you help us! To help provide additional fundraising opportunities for Lycoming County SPCA volunteers, we are bringing back our Friends of the Lycoming County SPCA Group. This group will focus on planning and conducting various short-term fundraising activities throughout the year. Anyone can participate and may do so at whatever level they are comfortable with. Remember….One person can make a difference! The greatest part of the new Friends of the Lycoming County SPCA is that you can join and participate as a virtual group member. This way, even if you cannot attend in our in-person planning meetings, you can still join in, share your ideas and receive up-to-the-minute information and updates on the latest happenings of the group.
