Young Men's Democratic Club

Young Men's Democratic Club Established in 1892, the Young Men's Democratic Club is a non-profit, private social club in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

The YMDC welcomes membership applications from ALL political parties and genders. Our facility includes a full bar, kitchen, pool table at only 50¢ a game, Touch Tunes juke box, PA Skill machines and payout kiosk, small games of chance, and a calendar of monthly events. HISTORY:
The Young Men's Democratic Club, a 501-(c7) non-profit organization, was founded on May 28, 1892 by 21 local democratic

men and remained a strictly male social club until a bylaw change allowing for active democratic women to join. The first known club was located on East Fourth Street next to the James V. Brown Library and then moved to West Fourth Street across from the Genetti Hotel until 1997. The club spent 28 years at 230 East Street before closing in 2025. In 2026, the club reopened at 1164 West Fourth Street. We are governed internally by our constitution and bylaws which is overseen by our board of directors and externally by the PLCB.

60% of all monies made from small games of chance are donated to the community.

No kitchen Special this week!

Donations are being accepted for Newberry Church of Christ’s food and hygiene pantries. We have boxes set up for non-perishable food, hygiene, and household cleaning products. We are also accepting monetary donations, and we ask that you give that only to the bartender on duty.

Thank you to everyone who has donated so far, and we ask everyone who is able to please help out.

Hi all! I know three posts is a lot for one day, but I needed to share a few things with you.

The Club is up and running after having to shut down Saturday after our AC conked out. We apologize to any of our members who tried to come in that night. It was brutally hot in there, and it just wasn’t safe or fair to have our bartender work in that heat.

At least for today, the kitchen will remain closed. You are welcome to bring in food if you’d like.

We are setting up three donation boxes to help with a request from Newberry Church of Christ for their food pantry and hygiene pantry. One will be for perishable food, one will be for personal hygiene products, and one will be for household cleaning products. All three were requested, so we’ll do our best to give them what they’ve asked for. We ask that all of our members please stop in and donate to the boxes if you are able. We are also able to collect money for them, so if you should choose to do that, we can take up a collection. We thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity.

Last but certainly not least, this Saturday (August 15) is Music Bingo at 6:30pm. If you have not come in for this yet, you really need to give it a try. It usually last just under two hours, and it is so much fun! This event is open to the public, so grab some friends and come play with us! Cheating is 100% allowed and encouraged!
