While our operations have remained paused publicly, we promise that our board has been hard at work behind the scenes, building a whole new referral system.

We’re excited to grow responsibly, meet the needs of our communities more effectively, and get our volunteers back out spreading kindness through food sharing.

Thank you for your patience while we stretch, learn, and grow 💙🧡

During National Volunteer Appreciation Week, we simply could not let the moment pass without honoring our Volunteer Chefs.

Our volunteers and supporters are among the most generous and selfless spirits in our communities. Turning simple ingredients into connection, dignity, and hope for so many, that impact does not pause, even when operations do. The ripple effect of the actions of our volunteers continue in the lives of those they’ve touched and the standard they’ve set for what community care can look like.

As we work behind the scenes to build something even stronger and more sustainable, we carry the dedication of our volunteers with us in every decision we make. We are deeply excited for what’s ahead and cannot wait to welcome everyone back into action.

Until then, please accept our heartfelt gratitude
💙🧡

Hello, Eat Share friends and fans! We snuck out today with a FREE Fruit Stand at the grand reopening of ☀️ Chelsea has been a Volunteer Chef for the Sunbury area and heartfelt supporter and sponsor of Eat Share since our beginnings in 2023. We couldn’t resist giving back by supporting the growth of her local business and seize this opportunity to recruit more volunteers in the area.

Stop out to say “hi” and visit the other incredible vendors at this great event.

Today, on Valentine’s Day, we are reflecting on what has always been at the heart of Eat Share: love.

Love is what sparked this mission.
Love is what brought volunteers into kitchens and neighbors around tables.
Love is what fueled the remarkable growth we’ve experienced in recent months.

And love — when it is real and responsible — also requires honesty, care, and integrity.

After thoughtful discussion, the Eat Share Board of Directors has made the decision to pause operations, effective today. This pause will allow us the necessary space to reflect, process, and thoughtfully discern the most sustainable and aligned path forward. At this time, we are not announcing a specific timeline, as we want to move carefully and intentionally.

In collaboration with our Executive Director, the Board ensured that every current commitment was honored before entering this pause. Yesterday and today, 15 meals have been in delivery to families as promised. It was important to us to conclude this season with care and follow through.

As part of our commitment to transparency, Eat Share will not be participating in Raise the Region this year. We cannot, in good faith, invite financial support without clarity about the organization’s future direction. We have also paused all recurring donations. Any future fundraising efforts will be grounded in integrity and a clear plan.

We also want to acknowledge the rapid growth Eat Share has experienced and the immense leadership that has carried it forward. Growth requires structure, sustainability, and support. As a Board, we recognize the importance of prioritizing the wellbeing of those who steward this mission. Ensuring space for rest and renewal is part of responsible governance and long-term care for the organization.

This pause is not a rejection of the mission. It is an act of care for it.

Love built Eat Share.
Love has sustained it.
And love is guiding this moment of reflection and discernment.

We are deeply grateful to every volunteer, partner, donor, and neighbor who has been part of this journey. Your belief in shared meals and shared humanity has shaped something meaningful.

We will share updates as we have clarity. For now, we choose reflection over reaction, and integrity over urgency.

With gratitude,

The Eat Share Board of Directors

Ahead of today’s snowstorm, Eat Share board members and Volunteer Chefs organized 15 meal and grocery deliveries so neighbors could face the storm with food for their families.

We especially love when meal recipients share updates like these—a little reminder how every delivery matters ❄️💙🥰

You’re likely familiar with Kitchen Repose, but did you know they’re doing incredible things to give back to our community, too?

In 2025, Kitchen Repose customers added monetary donations for Eat Share to their online orders, raising over $500 to help bring food to neighbors in need !!!

And that’s not all—Carnie and her team also helped fulfill some meal referrals for Eat Share families, delivering a few dozen thoughtfully prepared meals to local households, each one tailored to specific food allergies and dietary needs.

For your big hearts and generous spirits, thank you to Kitchen Repose and their amazing customers for continuing to spread kindness through food sharing across north central PA 🥰

The numbers have been counted.

In 2025, Eat Share served our communities 𝟏,𝟐𝟓𝟓 meals. Through the simple act of food sharing—neighbors volunteering to help neighbors—we brought homecooked meals to doorsteps, delivered groceries to empty cupboards, hosted five free community food events, and redirected excess restaurant and catering meals to families instead of it becoming waste.

We share our impact on MLK Day because Dr. King understood that hunger and poverty are not inevitable conditions. They are the result of policy choices. Injustice isn’t only found in words or laws, but in empty cupboards, unequal access, and systems that allow neighbors to go without while abundance exists.

Eat Share’s work is rooted in mutual aid and personal exchange. Our approach is intentionally local and responsive, shaped by the people we serve and the needs we see—allowing us to act with care, flexibility, and dignity.

Honoring Dr. King’s legacy means continuing to create spaces where food is shared freely, dignity is preserved, and community is built around the kitchen table.
