The Marine Corps League-Williamsport Detachment #388 received it's charter on May 19, 1977. The Detachment meets the 3rd Thursday of every month. Meetings start at 1800 (6:00pm)

The Detachment has been instrumental in the handling of the Lycoming County Toys For Tots program since the early 1980's, thanks to the dedication of Marine Charles E. "Chuck" Smith, along with his wife Betty whom got the program started in their garage. In 2023 the Lycoming County Toys For Tots campaign with the help of The Salvation Army distributed 17, 717 toys, supporting 1,812 children. The Detachment works in correlation with the Susquehanna Council of The Boy Scouts of America, to present Good Citizenship Awards to Scouts who achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. The Detachment is involved in Color Guards & Honor Guards for parades, funerals and other ceremonies where we are requested. If you are looking for a color/honor guard please contact Richard "Doug" Lane at (570) 323-9900 and leave a message. The Detachment holds monthly fundraisers. Our upcoming fundraisers are:
August 31, 2024-Beiter's in South Wmspt. 8:30am-3pm
October 19, 2024-Tractor Supply in Muncy. 8:30am-3pm
November 23, 2024-Tractor Supply in Muncy. 8:30am-3pm

The Detachment is currently selling Veteran & Youth Program tickets, which can be purchased for $1. We are also selling Raffle tickets, they are 1 for $10 or 3 for $20. If you are interested in purchasing tickets, come see us at one of our fundraising events, you can also contact the Detachment at [email protected] or call us at (570) 323-9900. Donations are always greatly appreciated. Checks can be made out to Williamsport Detachment #388 and mailed or dropped off to 507 Cemetery St. Williamsport, PA 17701

Happy 250th Birthday, United States Marine Corps!

Today, we proudly celebrate 250 years of honor, courage, and commitment. From 1775 to today, Marines have stood the watch—defending our Nation and upholding the values that define our Corps.

The Marine Corps League joins Marines everywhere in saluting all who have earned the title “Marine.” We honor those who came before us, those who serve today, and those who will carry our legacy forward.

Jr. Vice Commandant Jacob Bertin proudly received the National Jr. Vice Commandant’s Award on behalf of Williamsport Detachment #388 for exceeding 101.67% in membership from July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025.

This achievement highlights the Detachment’s continued growth and commitment to strengthening the Marine Corps League and supporting our mission in the community. Semper Fi!

Coming from a family full of patriots who have served and sacrificed for our country, I know how much our veterans give to protect our freedoms. This breakfast is a small way to honor them, and I hope you’ll join me on Thursday, Nov. 13 from 8-10 a.m. at American Legion Post 1 Williamsport. Our guest speaker will be Natalie Steppe, director of Lycoming County Department of Veterans Affairs.

New to this third annual event, UPMC North Central Region is partnering with C&N Bank, Bair Excavation, National Sporting Co., and John Ryan Brewery and John Roskowski to provide a free take-home dinner to each veteran, prepared by John Ryan Brewery. Come for breakfast with me and leave with a delicious, prepared dinner!
