Treasurer Report – Vanessa Johnson Smith
Detailed financial information was disclosed and discussed.
Road Chief Report: Melvin McFadden
MRRA maintains a little more than 3 miles of main roads. Our maintenance extends to side roads: Sarah, Young, Indian Ruins and Sunshine Trail. 120 tons of new road material have been spread YTD. Thanks to Mel, Ward and Sean who have been doing the work. Here’s the detailed breakdown:
1/4/26 – Brenda Rd graded
1/16/26- 20 tons applied to Brenda Rd
2/21/26- Brenda and a portion of Young Rd graded
2/25/26- 20 tons applied to Frankie’s Freeway
3/2/26- 20 tons applied to Frankie’s Freeway
3/9/26- 20 tons applied to Frankie’s Freeway
3/11/26- 20 tons applied to Frankie’s Freeway/Morgan Trl
3/12/26- 20 tons applied to Young Rd
Future activity will include adding material to the ‘S’ curve on Morgan Trail and re-installing the caution sign that was recently knocked down on Young Rd.
Due to rain, wind, and Mother Nature, MRRA main roads and side roads require continuous maintenance. In many areas the dirt and road material has been washed away; therefore, the board agreed unanimously to continue the process of adding material back to our roads providing that the funds exist. The process of adding material back to our roads will be an ongoing project and considered to be regular road maintenance.
The board agreed to purchase non-Spec material, 20 tons at a time from Arrowhead Mining and Material, approximately $380.00 per truck load. Coverage is approximately 120-150 feet. The material will be used to build the roads up and applied to areas that have run-off and drainage issues.
Proposal requiring member vote:
To improve our ability to address significant washboard on our roadways, the board requests approval from the members to spend approximately $2000 to purchase a new blade attachment for the MRRA tractor.
√ Members present voted unanimously to approve the purchase of a used 7 foot Gannon box attachment for the MRRA tractor.

Lawsuit update – On January 7,2026, in a court hearing, MRRA’s attorney requested MRRA be released from the lawsuit filed by Tom and Cheryl West. The judge approved the release and dismissed the case with prejudice, ending the lawsuit. (With prejudice means the Wests’ cannot refile a lawsuit against MRRA over the allegations listed in their original complaint. From the Court’s point of view, the lawsuit against MRRA has reached final determination.) The total cost of defending MRRA amounts to $8511. Thank you to everyone for their support and patience while we worked to settle the suit.
It has been my pleasure to serve as President of MRRA for the past several years. It is now time for me to retire from board membership and allow a new person to join the board. As you may know, board members are elected for a two year term. Several board members have graciously extended their term in order to provide continuity in leadership.
• Tania extended her term by more than 1 year and is now retiring
• Sean has extended his term by 6 months
• Mel has extended his term by more than 1 year
• Vanessa has extended her term by more than 1 year
• Mary is enjoying her first year on the board.
√ Nancy Hubbard has volunteered to join the MRRA board which keeps the count of board members at 5. Thank you Nancy!
Secretary Report – Mary Bianca
An updated list of property owners was obtained from the county office and invoices were sent to 170 current MRRA property owners in January 2026. Of the 170 that were sent, only 3 were returned as undeliverable.
The MRRA Board met on March 17 and again on May 11, 2026 to discuss recent activity and prepare for the Spring member meeting.
