Our Chaplain & her husband attended the US Naturalization Ceremony in Springfield, IL at the Old State Capital this week to see a friend of theirs from Norway receive his US Citizenship. Members of the DAR Chapters around the Springfield area were there distributing flags to the new citizens. The Old State Capital building is such a beautiful place filled with so much history and a wonderful setting for such a special day.
If you ever have the opportunity to attend one of these ceremonies that occur around the state, please do. You won't regret it. It is a lovely & joyous experience.

The Spoon River Chapter NSDAR honored our Veteran’s on Veteran’s Day by placing a wreath at the Veteran’s Memorial in Williamsfield, Illinois.

210 cards have been dropped off at the post office. These cards are on their way to the mail boxes of Veterans to honor them on this Veterans Day.
