Evidence only changes outcomes when people are equipped to use it.

As U=U enters its second decade, continued investment in training, implementation, and capacity building will be essential to sustaining its public health impact.

If you believe in grounding HIV care in strong evidence and real-world outcomes, we invite you to support the work that helps U=U reach providers, systems, and communities worldwide.

We’re proud to stand alongside Love To Love Organization in advancing U=U across Uganda 🇺🇬 and beyond!

The Journey of a Game-Changer: From the Streets to the Summit 🌍🥁
This photo captures the heartbeat of a movement. In 2019, Love To Love took to the streets of Uganda to launch U=U (Undetectable = Untransmittable), turning a scientific breakthrough into community action.

We didn’t just carry a banner; we carried a message of freedom. By sharing that an undetectable viral load means the virus cannot be transmitted, we began dismantling the walls of stigma that have stood for decades.

A massive milestone like this isn't reached alone. We want to extend a special thank you to the Prevention Access CampaignTheir support didn’t just fuel this launch; it paved the way for the first-ever U=U conference in Africa. Together, we moved the needle from local awareness to a continental shift in how we approach HIV advocacy.

Why This Still Matters Today:
The Science: It’s settled. U=U is the foundation of modern HIV prevention and care.

The Stigma: Every time we share this message, we replace fear with facts.

The Future: From that first march in 2019 to the conferences of today, the goal remains the same: health equity and dignity for all.

Let’s keep the music playing and the message moving!

U=U remains unchanged.
You may be seeing new research from about HIV transmission at low viral load levels. Here’s what you need to know:
This study uses a model to estimate transmission above the level defined as undetectable. It does not examine real-world outcomes for people who are undetectable.
Decades of evidence show that people living with HIV who are on treatment and have an undetectable viral load do not pass HIV to their sexual partners.
This is what U=U means. And it remains true.
The takeaway is simple:
Stay on treatment. Stay undetectable. Stay empowered.

What happens when healthcare workers come together to turn U=U into real-world practice?
At NMAC Biomedical, we had the opportunity to work with an incredible group of providers committed to bringing U=U into their everyday work with clients.
We led an interactive session focused on building confidence, practicing conversations, and making sure U=U shows up clearly in testing, treatment, and prevention.
Practicing how to say it and how to apply it.
One of the most powerful moments was watching participants come forward to sign the Healthcare Worker Commitment to U=U.
Providers committed to:
✔ Communicating U=U clearly
✔ Reducing stigma through the way they speak with clients
✔ Including U=U in everyday care conversations
✔ Supporting clients to reach and maintain viral suppression
Clear communication of U=U by healthcare workers enhances prevention results and transforms how people living with HIV perceive their care, relationships, and future prospects.
Grateful to everyone who showed up and leaned in.
If your organization is working to strengthen U=U integration, we would love to connect.
U=U works. Clear communication changes lives.

National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day is a moment to recognize the leadership, resilience, and contributions of women and girls in the global HIV response.

For decades, women have been at the center of advancing HIV science, care, and advocacy. From early research on preventing mother-to-child transmission to today’s progress in treatment and viral suppression, women have helped shape the evidence that underpins one of the most powerful messages in HIV: Undetectable = Untransmittable (U=U).

Yet gaps remain. Women and girls around the world still face barriers to HIV testing, treatment access, and accurate information about their health.

At Prevention Access Campaign, we remain committed to ensuring that women and girls have access to clear, evidence-based information about HIV treatment, viral suppression, and U=U, because knowledge empowers health and choice.

Today, we celebrate the women who have advanced the science, the advocates who continue to push the movement forward, and the millions of women living with HIV whose voices and leadership strengthen our communities every day.

Today on Zero Discrimination Day, highlighted U=U as a central strategy to fight HIV stigma and discrimination.

U=U means Undetectable = Untransmittable — when someone living with HIV is undetectable, they cannot sexually transmit HIV.

This science is a message of dignity, justice, and inclusion. 💛
