National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day is a moment to recognize the leadership, resilience, and contributions of women and girls in the global HIV response.
For decades, women have been at the center of advancing HIV science, care, and advocacy. From early research on preventing mother-to-child transmission to today’s progress in treatment and viral suppression, women have helped shape the evidence that underpins one of the most powerful messages in HIV: Undetectable = Untransmittable (U=U).
Yet gaps remain. Women and girls around the world still face barriers to HIV testing, treatment access, and accurate information about their health.
At Prevention Access Campaign, we remain committed to ensuring that women and girls have access to clear, evidence-based information about HIV treatment, viral suppression, and U=U, because knowledge empowers health and choice.
Today, we celebrate the women who have advanced the science, the advocates who continue to push the movement forward, and the millions of women living with HIV whose voices and leadership strengthen our communities every day.
