Thank you to everyone who came out to our ball this Saturday! With wonderful music by Elke Baker, Anna Rain, and Melissa Running, and a full house of dancers from near and far, we had a lovely time. Special thanks to the many, many volunteers who helped both before the ball and after - we couldn't do it without you!

Minuet practice! For the next two Tuesdays (2/24 and 3/3), we will be offering minuet practice from 7:30-8pm before our regular dance at Newport House. We will work to meet the needs of those who attend - we can start from scratch, or just practice if you already know the steps/figures and just want a chance to review.

This is in preparation for our annual ball (to be held March 7), which always starts with a simple minuet for anyone who would like to dance it. The minuet is *not* taught or called at the ball, so you will want to prepare in advance if you wish to participate.

With regret, we are *cancelling* this Tuesday night’s weekly meeting of the Williamsburg Heritage Dancers (January 27, 2026), as the conditions at Newport House are too icy for safe access and the weather report does not suggest anything much will melt off before tomorrow night. We hope for better weather and to dance again next Tuesday!

Happy 250th birthday, Jane Austen! The Williamsburg Heritage Dancers celebrated the day with Regency-era dances and delicious treats, including cake, homemade cookies, and delicious Spanish hot chocolate!

This coming Tuesday, December 16, our regular dance night coincides with the 250th anniversary of Jane Austen's birth! To celebrate the occasion, we'll be having a "birthday party" for Jane during the first hour of our meeting (from 8-9pm), with easy/accessible period dances and finishing up with birthday cake and treats. Feel free to come in costume if you wish, and invite your Austen-loving friends!
