Today we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. - who was a visionary leader, advocate, and one of the most prominent leaders of the U.S. civil rights movement.

Next week, the W&M Center for Student Diversity (along with the William & Mary School of Education and W&M Diversity and Inclusion) is hosting a series of events to commemorate the long-lasting impacts of Dr. King's words, work, and influence. We hope you will join us for these events throughout the week.

The W&M Staff, Faculty, and PPF Assemblies would like to thank the entire William & Mary and Virginia Institute of Marine Science community for showing an incredible amount of support for our Fall Food Drive to benefit Food For All's Campus Food Exchange program. We greatly exceeded our goal of 600 pounds of donations, with a whopping overall donation of 1,465 pounds of food and beverages that will benefit any W&M student, staff, or faculty member in need of support! We are so appreciative of the volunteers who helped monitor and deliver donation boxes from across our campuses, and for those who had the ability to donate! We will be hosting another food drive in the spring to keep our campus food pantries stocked through the spring semester and summer break - for those who would like to help volunteer please reach out to Cynthia Vinson, WMSA Activities & Events Chair, at [email protected].

ALL ASSEMBLIES FOOD DRIVE: FALL 2024!

The W&M Staff Assembly is once again teaming up with the Professionals and Professional Faculty Assembly (PPFA) and the Faculty Assembly (FA) for a food drive to benefit the Campus Food Exchange - which provides W&M students, faculty, and staff with access to nonperishable food, household products, and personal hygiene products.

Donation boxes will be placed across campus (both at W&M and VIMS), and the drive will occur from October 28 - November 17.

REMINDER: Tuesday, November 5, 2024 is ELECTION DAY.

To make sure you're prepared in advance, here are a few upcoming opportunities to register:
- Tomorrow, Sept 10, 10 AM - 2 PM at the William & Mary Law School
- Tues, Sept 17, 11 AM - 1:30 PM and 5 - 6:30 PM at Sadler Terrace: where you can register to vote for the first time, update your voting status or learn how to become an elections officer. Free T-shirts, stickers, and pizza will also be provided while they last!
