The need is greater than many people realize. 🐾
Every year, thousands of military and law enforcement K9s transition from active service into retirement. While their careers may end, the physical and medical challenges that come with years of demanding work often continue long after their final shift.
Approximately 300 military working dogs and an estimated 10,000 law enforcement K9s retire each year. Behind every number is a loyal partner who spent years protecting communities, supporting service members, and standing beside their handlers when it mattered most.
Retirement can bring new challenges, including ongoing medical care, mobility issues, chronic conditions, and age-related health concerns. These heroes deserve the same dedication and support they gave throughout their careers.
That's why Paws of Honor exists. We help retired K9s across the country receive the veterinary care and assistance they need to enjoy a healthy, comfortable retirement.
Because when their service ends, our commitment to them continues. ❤️
