Our newest building going up! It is a 4 stall shop and 4 housing units behind. This will completely build out our compound with 11 buildings all together! God is so good-- and good all the time😊 The Lutheran church in S Sudan (ELCSS/S) can be very thankful of their outreach to people with disabilities through Hands of Mercy, and the USA side of this mission has been the loyal backbone of its Gospel work. All praise and thanks to our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Did you know?

South Sudan has the highest maternal mortality rate in the world: 1 woman dies in every 50 births.

South Sudan has the highest child mortality rate in the world:
135 die in every 1,000 births.

South Sudan has just 27% of the medical staff required for the needs of its population. That means there is 1 medically trained staff person for every 100,000 people.

Help us throw a wrench in these stats.

People with Disabilities are among the most vulnerable people in South Sudan. Already facing challenging living conditions, people with disabilities face exclusion from the community and stigma because of their disability. Hands of Mercy says 'no' to this injustice with the authority and love of Christ.

We have a training center where all people are welcome to discover and nurture the unique talents that God has given to them. Through practical skills training we empower people with disabilities to assert their value as contributing members of the community.

Today, we are praying for Sarah. She is a member of Hands of Mercy and is learning tailoring skills. Already, she has learned how to sew clothes for her grand-daughter so she can have something nice to wear to school. As Sarah continues to learn and master tailoring she can hire out her skills to the community and have enough money to the pay the school fees for her grand-daughter. Pray that the Lord will provide for Sarah and her family.
