Hope you can join us for the annual Open House and Train Show!
THIS Saturday (10-4) and Sunday (1-4), December 6th and 7th ! We really hope that you will like how "Georgia" (our 1925 caboose) looks after all the work that has been put into her. As usual, the Ford's Colony Model Railroaders will have out trains up-&-running along with the big electric train show at the Library.

Please join us today (5/17 from 10-4) & tomorrow (5/18 from 1-4) to support the Colonial Heritage Model Railroaders event at the James City Library! We will be open extended hours and Georgia (our red 1925) caboose will be open for walk-throughs!

Day 1 of our annual Christmas Open House weekend is well underway! But the real excitement starts with Santa’s arrival TOMORROW!! Hope you stop and see us! Georgia—our caboose—is finally open for visitation!!

Please plan to join us on Saturday and Sunday, December 7 & 8 for our annual Christmas Open House weekend! The Ford’s Colony Model Railroaders will have electric train displays in the library as well and Santa will be at the Depot on Sunday to greet the kids! Can’t wait to see you all!!!

Last week, delivery was made of the newly refurbished caboose stove for "Georgia"--our lovely caboose! We took some photos of the stove and would like to give a HUGE thank you to our stove donor and all who have and continue to support us through this renovation and preparation for regular visitors to see Georgia up close and personal!

The Depot had a VERY special visitor on Saint Patrick's Day! Nancy--daughter of "Hop" Showalter--posed in front of his photos in the Station Master's Office. She shared many stories of things that she recalled about the Depot and how big a part of her young life this station was! She was VERY happy to see the place since she had not visited since its move to the Library property (in 2007)! A truly memorable visit!!

The Depot will hold a spring OPEN HOUSE the weekend of May 18 & 19 (Saturday-10a.m.-4p.m. and Sunday-1p.m.-4-p.m.) in support of the Colonial Heritage Model Railroad display at the James City Library! We would LOVE to see you there and plan to have "Georgia" (our caboose) open for folks to take a look inside--some have seen her and others, not. Please help SPREAD THE WORD!

This is day 2 of our Open House Weekend! As usual, the area model railroad groups have taken over parts of the James City Library—so you can have both railroad experiences in one trip! We’re here ‘til 4…ALL ABOARD!

A BIG Thank You to all who joined us for the Norge Depot open house this weekend! It is amazing to see the support of our little museum and caboose and we truly appreciate you! Chessie-the-cat (mascot for the C&O Railroad) was on hand to greet the kids. We hope that everyone enjoyed their time.
