💜💚 During the month of May, Nabeeh Court No. 250 helped raise awareness about two important health concerns that are often deeply felt, yet unseen by others: Lupus and Mental Health. 💚💜
As we observed Lupus Awareness Month and Mental Health Awareness Month, we took time to educate our members and community about these conditions, which impact millions of individuals and families every day.
Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease that causes the body’s immune system to attack healthy tissues and organs. Although some individuals may experience the well-known butterfly-shaped facial rash, lupus is often considered an invisible illness because many symptoms cannot be seen. There is no cure, but medication and lifestyle changes can help individuals manage the disease and maintain a good quality of life.
Mental Health encompasses our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, act, and respond to life’s challenges. More than one billion people worldwide live with a mental health condition. Like lupus, many mental health challenges are not visible to others, making awareness, understanding, and support especially important. With self-care, strong support systems, and professional resources, mental health conditions can be effectively managed.
In Nabeeh Court, our members believe that education creates understanding, understanding brings compassion, and compassion strengthens our communities.
