Citizen Made started a few years ago as a small collective of weavers coming together to learn the craft. It’s grown into something so much bigger. We love this community built on friendship, collaboration, and gorgeous art.

This past weekend, we were proud to sell at Handmade Arcade’s Emerging Craft Market! 🧶
Look at Daijah feeling proud after selling pieces that she has had so much fun making. Go Dai!

On September 3, join us at Point Park University's Pittsburgh Playhouse for a night of short films followed by an after-party!

Come early to shop the ReelAbilities Art Market in the lobby, featuring works by artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities from Creative Citizen Studios and Studio Forget-Me-Not.

📽️ We’re screening seven short films that explore a range of experiences with disability told by filmmakers with diverse perspectives. Prepare to be moved by this mix of drama and documentary films featuring stories of resilience, creativity, vulnerability, and hope. 🧡

We’re thrilled to celebrate the CCS artists selected to exhibit in OUTSIDE FORCES, Art Enables’ 20th annual exhibition of work by self-taught artists! Congratulations to our participating artists, Mick Fisher, Daijah Massie, Jami Johnson, and Robyn Mckee + William Taylor (collaboration weaving). We’re so proud to see your work represented on this national stage.

Bringing together artists from organizations across the country, OUTSIDE FORCES celebrates work shaped by individual experiences, perspectives, and creative practices beyond the conventions of mainstream art education.

We’re especially excited to see CCS artists represented alongside artists from progressive art studios across the country. If you’re in the Washington, DC area, please make sure to check out this show!

The festival opens on September 3 with an in-person screening, award ceremony, and artist market at Point Park University's Pittsburgh Playhouse.

Then on September 4, the virtual festival begins! 3 feature documentaries, 3 feature narratives and 7 additional short films will be available to stream on-demand in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia.

WE BELONG HERE AND WE’RE HERE TO STAY. 💛🖤

Disability Pride Pittsburgh is back for our 5th year, and this celebration feels especially important right now.

In a world that can feel increasingly divided, uncertain, and isolating, gathering is powerful. Community is powerful. Disabled joy is powerful.

Disability Pride is about more than one day in the park. It’s about creating spaces where we don’t have to explain ourselves, apologize for our access needs, or make ourselves smaller to belong.

It’s about showing up together.

On September 26, we’re taking up space at Schenley Plaza with music, laughter, resources, vendors, games, creativity, advocacy, and JOY.

Because we belong in our communities.
We belong in public spaces.
We belong in the decisions that affect our lives.
We belong exactly as we are.

And when the world tries to make disabled people feel invisible, gathering together becomes its own form of resistance.

We Belong Here, and We’re Here to Stay.
