When Hurricane Melissa hit Jamaica, most systems failed — ours didn’t. Powered entirely by sunlight, AWG Contracting’s water generator kept producing clean water for the Maroon community of Accompong through a Category 5 storm.

This is what real climate resilience looks like — renewable, reliable, and ready for the world.

Our work has touched the Accompong Maroons of Jamaica. It is the dream of The Foundation to spread this level of resilience to all populations around the world.

Equip them with Atmospheric Water Generators (preferably Solar Powered) so that no storm, tragedy, or crisis will prevent the people from life-assuring water access!

The Accompong Maroons of Jamaica were the first people in the Caribbean to get a machine from AWG Contracting and The Moses West Foundation

Resilience in Action: Water from Air in Accompong, Jamaica

AWG Contracting is proud to have one of our AWG 800 systems operating in Jamaica producing clean water for Chief Richard Currie and the Accompong Maroon community.

This fully solar-powered AWG800, deployed by CRECYCLE, Chief Currie, and his team, has given the community its own independent power and drinking water source, a vital resource after the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa.

When winds reached 185 mph, the system was toppled and damaged, yet the resilience of both the people and the technology prevailed. Repairs were made on-site, and the unit is now fully operational, producing 100% renewable water from air to sustain the long-term recovery of the Accompong Maroons.

This is what drives me, and my small company every day of the year, we are engineering resilience, restoring independence, and proving that sustainable water from air is not just possible, it is powerful.

We sent an Atmospheric Water Generator to the Maroons of Jamaica... The systems were desinged to be containerized and fully supported by collapsable Solar Panels.

When the Storm rolled in, they folded up the Solar Panels and the the AWG into the Containers.

Despite the destruction and infrastructure Damage the Maroons were able to setup the AWG and Panels and start producing water immediately!

This is the solution for a great many problems...

Accompong Maroons: Water-from-Air & A Scalable Future for the Community (Part 4)

Chief Richard Currie and Ambassador Anu El share how renewed talks with the Moses West Foundation turned a dream into reality—bringing Atmospheric Water Generator technology to Accompong. Initially seen as a short-term fix, the AWG proved to be a scalable, long-term solution for clean, sustainable drinking water. This partnership marks a turning point, laying the groundwork for lasting water security, community growth, and a self-determined future for the Maroon nation.

Accompong Maroons: Cockpit Country’s Water & a Vision for Sustainability (Part 3)

After centuries of isolation to protect their culture, the Accompong Maroons now face the challenge of turning their natural wealth into sustainable development. Sitting atop 40% of Jamaica’s freshwater in the Cockpit Country, they lack the infrastructure to bring it to their own homes. Chief Richard Currie shares how partnerships—like the one with the Moses West Foundation—are bringing Atmospheric Water Generator technology to Accompong, laying the foundation for clean water access, climate resilience, and a new era of growth.

Accompong Maroons: The 1738 Treaty & 300 Years of Sovereignty (Part 2)

Chief Richard Currie and Ambassador Anu El reveal how the Accompong Maroons remain a living testament to freedom nearly 300 years after defeating the British Empire. The 1738 Treaty, still recognized under Jamaican law, protects Maroon lands, jurisdiction, and autonomy—rights signed in blood by their ancestors. This enduring sovereignty continues to guide the Maroon nation’s fight for their people, their lands, and the generations yet unborn.

Accompong Maroons: The Untold Origins of Jamaica’s First Nation (Part 1)

Chief Richard Currie and Ambassador Anu El share the origins of the Accompong Maroons—Jamaica’s First Nation people who have never been conquered. Descended from Tainos, Arawaks, Moors, and Africans, the Maroons fought off Spanish and British forces, burned plantations, freed enslaved people, and built thriving mountain communities. This unique bloodline became a proud nation, now partnering with The Moses West Foundation in a new chapter of resilience and sovereignty.

The Moses West Foundation just installed a groundbreaking Atmospheric Water Generator (AWG-800) at The Quarters Assisted Living Facility in Jackson, Mississippi.

For the first time in decades, 70 residents have access to clean, drinkable water; no more boil advisories, no more contaminated taps.

And for the very first time in human history an Atmospheric Water Generator of this capacity and effiency is connected to and supplying water to a home permanently.

This fully automated system pulls water from humid air, purifies it through micron-level filtration, and delivers it through brand-new copper plumbing: over 200 gallons a day.

Clean water. Made from air. Right here in Jackson.
