WOW! What a ribbon cutting today for our Head Start Heroes - A Project by Leadership Northeast Core 2024 sensory room project at Luzerne County Head Start, Inc.'s Beekman St. Center in Wilkes-Barre! It was an incredible unveiling of the space, and we even got to see Head Start students enter it for the very first time.

Along with our project team, others in attendance included several Head Start staff members; Wilkes-Barre Mayor George Brown; representatives from the offices of Senator Marty Flynn, U.S. Senator Bob Casey and Congressman Matt Cartwright; our friends and family; and representatives from Leadership Northeast and the Greater Wyoming Valley Chamber of Commerce. It was a grand celebration, and it brought us all great joy to see the room become a reality! We hope the children at Head Start get much enjoyment out of this space for years to come.

We are so excited to cut the ribbon for our Luzerne County Head Start, Inc. sensory room at 12:30 p.m. today! If you're able, stop by 23 Beekman St. in Wilkes-Barre to celebrate this great success with us!

Join us! A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held Friday, May 17, 2024 at 12:30 PM at Luzerne County Head Start, Beekman St., Wilkes-Barre signifying the completion of the organization’s first sensory room. The sensory room is a community impact project organized by Leadership Northeast’s Core Class 2024 Head Start Heroes - A Project by Leadership Northeast Core 2024 team. The team worked with Luzerne County Head Start to create a sensory room for all young children who attend Head Start’s Beekman St. Center.

The Head Start Heroes - A Project by Leadership Northeast Core 2024 community impact project team is excited to announce that on Friday, May 17th at 12:30 p.m. there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony at Luzerne County Head Start, Inc.'s Beekman St. Center in Wilkes-Barre to celebrate the completion of our sensory room!

All are invited to attend and celebrate this achievement with us, the Head Start staff, Leadership Northeast, local dignitaries and the Greater Wyoming Valley Chamber of Commerce. Come see this incredible space that will impact Head Start's students now and well into the future!

This past Saturday was another productive day for our group at Luzerne County Head Start, Inc.'s Beekman St. Center in Wilkes-Barre! After last week's successful painting adventure, we were able to put down the flooring, set up the sensory room with all the awesome items purchased from our Amazon Wish List, shoot some footage for our video and work on the video outline.

It is incredibly exciting to say that our sensory room is VERY close to completion, and we look forward to sharing those photos and some other fun updates with you soon!

Thank you again to everyone who has helped us bring our project to life! We couldn't have done any of this without your support. 😃

On Saturday, we painted our sensory room at Luzerne County Head Start, Inc.'s Beekman St. Center in Wilkes-Barre! We also created the blueprint for the room layout and were able to float ideas past some Head Start staff. 😊

This upcoming Saturday, we'll gather once again to configure the flooring, along with setting up the items that many of you purchased from our Amazon Wish List!

It's finally all coming together! 🤩
