From fighter jets to philanthropy, Slick’s story is one of bold leadership and service. A retired USAF Lt. Colonel, Thunderbird pilot, and co-founder of Draken International, he’s now helping shape the future of spaceflight and championing causes like St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, where he received St Jude's 2025 Extraordinary Performance Award.

Honored to join the Rotary Club of Scranton today to share the mission behind the Spirit of Hope Celebration and the Community-Based Cancer Screening Navigation Program at the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute.

Chairman Leo Vergnetti, alongside Amanda Marchegiani and Vanessa Vergnetti, spoke about how these initiatives are making a meaningful impact across our region.

Thank you to Kevin Bishop, Vice President of the Scranton Rotary Club and Executive Director of Northeastern Pennsylvania Council of Boy Scouts of America, and all who are helping drive hope forward.

The 2024 Spirit of Hope Celebration brought together over 300 community members for a night of inspiration, music, and giving — raising $48,540 to support early cancer detection and free screenings through the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute.
