Greiner Girl Cassidy Avery had her last regular lesson tonight before heading to Columbia College this fall. This girl is vocal, always worrying about making everything perfect and committed to being the absolute best she can be! Her development as a pitcher has come a long way and there’s still so much room for her pitching prowess to grow! She has an amazing personality and can sass right back at me in lessons! Good luck in middle Missouri Cassidy!

Our last season together is winding down, and these girls are hitting their stride! Coming off a championship win at the St. Louis Showcase and a week break, the girls spent the past weekend competing at the USA Softball Showcase.

Solid pitching and defense all weekend! Finished 3-2, but each loss we had an opportunity to win and was competitive. Looking forward to completing the journey with these ladies next week in Bentonville, AR! Leave it on the field ladies!

Way to go ladies!

STL Comets 18U brought home the championship at the Recruit Nation St. Louis Showcase! Great 3 days of softball where every girl contributed to a 6-1 record for the weekend! Jenna Volz was on fire today with 3 💣s and had 12 RBIs for the weekend! Ella Strickland led the team with a .478 batting average, 11 hits, 5 doubles, 7 R, and a HR. Kamdyn Matthews led the way in the circle striking out 23 with a 1.72 ERA over 23+ innings. Defense was stellar all weekend. The girls play next at the USA Softball Showcase over the 4th of July holiday weekend.

We started 2-0 in pool play last night with a 5-2 win over the SI Dirt Dawgs and a 7-1 win over the Missouri Fury 04. Ella Strickland with a 💣 in game 1 and both Myla Inman and Sarah Wurtz had multiple hits, a RBI double by Jenna Voz, along with great defense behind the solid pitching of Cassidy Avery. The 2nd game was highlighted with a dominant pitching performance by Kami Matthews with 8 Ks, and led at the plate by Ella Strickland and Cassidy Avery who both finished with 2 hits and 3 RBIs each. Pool play continues today at 3:30 pm vs Kewanee Ballhawks and concludes at 5 pm vs Marucci Nationals. Follow us live on GameChanger!🥎

There are so many benefits to playing sports. It taught me discipline at a young age. I had to sacrifice a lot. I had to sacrifice going out, living a normal teenager life, and doing whatever I wanted. I had to choose to show up, put in the work, and practice even when I didn’t feel like it. It taught me to dream big. It taught me to be a team player. I learned leadership. I learned how to work hard. And I learned how to embrace failure. Looking back, I don’t regret one single sacrifice I had to make. It gave me the life I am now living in and it was well worth every bit of hard work.

So to every girl/boy and man and woman reading this, know it’s never too late or too early to begin putting in the work toward your dream. It won’t be easy but it will be worth it.
