Meet Blue... A few weeks ago we were contacted about a french who had come into the vet paralyzed and desperately needing help. Instead of having the owners surrender thier loved dog, we helped pay for his bloodwork and medications and gave the owners some information on how to rehab thier pup at home. We have stayed in contact with the owners to help with any questions during his recovery, and look at him now! IVDD is not a death sentence. With the right help, many dogs can recover without major intervention (surgery). Not every situation is the same, but its always worth a shot to help save a life. We are so happy that Blue was able to stay with his family. And is now able to walk and potty completely on his own.
We may not always divulge every case we help the moment it happens, as sometimes things are done behind the scenes until we have the opportunity to catch up on posts. But please know, we appreciate every single one of our donors who still help us. Blue says thank you for helping him! We are a very small rescue, and our goal is still to help when and where we can. Making a difference in the life or outcome of a dog is always priority, no matter how it happens.
