So here’s a short story about Redemption:
I have been stocking this deer for 3 weeks. Learning his pattern, trying to get ahead of him with no success….. until Tuesday. I head out on SXS and get all the way to my stand , QUIETLY get settled in, and look out in food plot to see none other than Cybil (my deer/turtle dog) peering at me from middle of food plot. She had broke out of kennel and found me. See pic 1. I watch her roam for over an hour and finally get irritated and I yelled at her , put her in shooting house with me and sat there disgusted. See pic 2
I thought it was a waste of time to stay with her whining and scratching so I threw caution into the wind and grunted . 45 seconds later in he came ! Stood broadside and looked at me. See pic 3 . Heart jumped out of my chest and I had to put leg over the dog who is now trying to get in my lap, get gun out the window just to hear “SNAP”! Rifle did not shoot! 😳 Kramer as I initially named him, walked out, and then turned the other way broadside and stood there. A second time my rifle “SNAP!” I was beyond disheartened.
I watched him casually walk away .
Wednesday I decided I would try it again with Cybil firmly locked in doggy jail!
I was in stand 40 minutes! Grunted and a spike appeared with Kramer not far behind!
At that moment, Kramer became Redemption! See pics 4 & 5
